The Dilemma And Solution Of The "Difficult Problems" Of Art

In the 20th century,western art completed its self-transformation from modernist art to post-modernist art.In the period of art transformation,art practice shows the tendency of "anti-art" and "anti-aesthetics",which completely breaks the conventional narrative of modern art on the history of traditional art,and makes art evolve in a pluralistic and open direction.However,the carnival of artistic practice in the 20th century has plunged the traditional philosophy of art into an unprecedented theoretical dilemma.The pressure caused by the drastic changes in the interior of art compels the philosophy of art to have the responsibility to respond theoretically to the current changes in art and to provide theoretical explanations.However,modern art,which was born in the new artistic system and the social and cultural context,has pushed the philosophy of art into the predicament of theoretical aphasia by means of its presentation which is quite different from traditional art.Faced with the reality of art,art philosophy has two choices,either rejecting avant-garde art and avant-garde art experiments,or returning to the basic concepts to reflect on its effectiveness.Facing the theoretical "difficult problems" caused by modern art,many contemporary art theory schools have provided unique philosophical perspectives,tried different channels of intervention,and responded positively to the "difficult problems" of art.Analytical aesthetics is one of many schools.Enlightened by the methodology of analytical philosophy,analytical aesthetics has embarked on a theoretical road quite different from traditional philosophy of art.It is the main task of philosophy to clarify the usage and significance of basic concepts in aesthetics in language.As a new school of art philosophy,analytical aesthetics has developed rapidly in the United States,which has brought great impact on art theory in the late 20th century,so that it once formed a confrontation with European aesthetics.Even though analytical aesthetics has experienced the peak of theory and the breakthrough and criticism of school theory have become calm,its far-reaching theoretical impact can still find its theoretical aftermath in the new branches of contemporary aesthetics.In view of the pertinence of analytical aesthetics theory,the uniqueness of research methods and the far-reaching influence,this thesis takes the theory of analytical aesthetics as the research object;in this thesis,the "difficult problem" of art is concretely translated into two aspects of "artistic definition" and "artistic value".The theoretical path and the way of solving the "difficult problem" of artistic intervention of aesthetics are investigated and analyzed;on the basis of the existing research on the definition of art in analytical aesthetics,this thesis links up the philosophical thinking on "artistic value" in order to provide a complete analytical aesthetic solution to the "difficult problems" of art.Even now,the "answer" given by analytic aesthetics may not be the best solution,but the self-doubt and self-criticism consciousness of its theory fit the theme and temperament of modern art and provide us with a possibility to understand modern art.This article is divided into seven parts and five chapters.Among them,the introduction part aims to point out the background of analytical aesthetics and the existing research results related to the topic of this thesis.The first chapter combs and analyses the background environment of the times in which aesthetics is located,and points out the role of avant-garde art in the development of modern art.The second chapter puts forward two aspects of the "art problem",namely the "art definition"problem and the "art value" problem;moreover,in the early stage of analytic aesthetics,when it comes to the art problem,the anti-essentialism tendency adopted in this thesis.In the third chapter,when the anti-essential tendency of abolishing the definition of art is criticized,analytical aesthetics returns to the way of defining art,forming three different tendencies of artistic definition.The fourth chapter,on the basis of the new theory of artistic definition,this thesis chooses two perspectives of"perception" and "explanatory" to illustrate the thinking of analytic aesthetics in solving the problem of artistic value.In the fifth chapter,we switch to the external perspective of analytical aesthetics,re-examine the gains and losses of analytical aesthetics in dealing with artistic problems from the critical perspective of the third party,and try to give a more inclusive and adaptable theoretical thinking.The concluding part summarizes the theoretical gist of the full text.
