As a scholar—type painter,Fang Zengxian was one of the main pioneers in the creation of realistic Chinese figure paintings in the second half of the 20 th century.He has made outstanding achievements in many fields such as Chinese figure painting creation,Chinese aesthetic education and teaching,poetry and calligraphy,administration and art communication..Many of the current researches also cover the above fields.These studies are scattered,and the trees will not form a forest.Due to the limitation of materials,there will inevitably be missing.Based on the above problems,the compilation of a detailed chronology is the main cause of academic research.What can be shown now is only some art chronology,but the art chronology of different descriptions is similar,too concise,unavoidable omissions,and limited research value.Now use various versions of the chronology as the basic document,according to the existing Chinese painting creation,collection of works,retrospective pictures,poems,and friends' books,student memoirs,local chronicles,archives,and other historical materials to organize the compilation of Fang Zengxian Chronicles,hope to be able to objectively demonstrate the life of the spectrum masters.In order to be able to clearly show the academic thoughts,creative ideas,and life transitions of the master,the Chronicle divides the master's life into four phases: "Education in the art sea,diligence in work(1931—1954)","teaching and learning,pioneering new ways(1955—)1982)","Forge ahead,and return without fear(1983—1991)","Retired to Shanghai,endless life(1992—2019)",each period is a volume.The first period is mainly the academic accumulation period.A detailed list of the feelings of the master's early study and examination,especially the old people,old things,fathers and mothers,emigrated grandmother's house,private school,new school teacher Chen Gengsheng,received his mother's painting enlightenment education,and followed Chen Gengsheng to learn "Guwen Guan Zhi" and "Three Hundred Tang Poems" First" and so on.Entered the art college,under the tutelage of Huang Binhong,Pan Tianshou,Lin Fengmian,Mo Pu,Jin Lang,Zhuleshan,Deng Bai,Zhang Huaijiang,Zhang Yangxi,etc.,especially deeply influenced by Pan Tianshou,Lin Fengmian,Su Tianci,Li Binghong,it is this The period determined the academic orientation: solid sketch modeling ability,rich color perception,compliance with traditional pen and ink,and attention to the pen and ink expression of modern character painting.The second period is the mature stage of academic diligence.Collected and inspected the academic research and academic activities after the master stayed as a teacher in the school,especially the research on sketch modeling,the integration of traditional brush and ink,and the outline of lines.There were a lot of works created during this period,which paved the way for later exploration and new heights.During this period,due to teaching and creative reasons,he came into contact with a large number of scholars,literati,painters,and collectors.This was an important academic resource for him in the future.The third period is the exploratory sprint period.During this period,he was busy working as the curator of the Shanghai Art Museum,but he always considered himself a painter and looked for time to paint,so that he continued to create in the office or at home.The Shanghai Biennale was held during this period.During this period,many efforts were spent on exploration.As a result,he gained a new understanding and understanding of modern art and also enhanced his rich expression experience in Chinese ink painting.Created a batch of works with a new perspective.The fourth period is the summary period.In this period,the master of the spectrum retired from the administrative position and had organic venereal diseases,but he still participated in the Shanghai Biennale many times,creating huge works expressing the humanistic spirit and humanity("Ren Bridge—Liberation of Tianjin").He already enjoys a high reputation.Won the second "China Art Award·Lifetime Achievement Award","Shanghai Literary Artist Lifetime Honor Award",etc.,worked hard and professionally created,and the long—term illness gradually worsened,and finally brought nostalgia and sympathy for family,students,and friends.The worry of the unfinished "Man Bridge—Liberation of Tianjin" has left the world he loves deeply.Born in the Republic of China and growing up in the special era after the founding of the People's Republic of China,Fang Zengxian shared the same academic identity with the aesthetic education advocated by the mainstream of the times under the influence of many factors,national,social,and personal.As a political and a painter,his academic thoughts and creative ideas have their own unique aspects.In order to allow people to fully understand this point,as much as possible to restore the important current events,policies,academic exchanges or controversies with contemporaries,my special growth trajectory,etc.The common role of wei is to objectively reproduce the time,place,person and thing,and show the rich life of the master with abundant details.This is the highest search of the Chronicle,and this article is working hard.Fang Zengxian is not only the founder and promoter of the figure painting of the Zhejiang School,but also one of the main founders of modern Chinese figure painting,and the most influential figure painting master in the 20 th century.Fang Zengxian's ink figure paintings led the new figure paintings of the second half of the 20 th century.His artistic development has gone through three main periods: the early ink and wash realism;in 1955,the creation of "Everything is Hard" uses the technique of sketching to slow down the writing,weakening the expression of light and shade,only the ink itself creates a three—dimensional effect,"Speaking of the Red Book" It is the iconic work of the maturity of painting style during this period;the creation of "Mother" in 1988 made Fang Zengxian turn to understand himself,pay attention to life,pay attention to society and the world,and express his own thoughts subjectively.The 2007 "Sacrifice to Heaven" work is an overall understanding and reshaping of traditional Chinese artistic expression.Leave profound ideas and great wealth to the Chinese art world.Fang Zengxian devoted himself to the creation of ancient scribes in costume figures,focusing on the pursuit of form and the theme in his works.His traditional pen—and—ink architecture has a modern composition form of the picture,which expands the personalized language paradigm of modern Chinese costume figures.Fang Zengxian naturally infiltrated the modeling elements of Western art into the local content from a new perspective,forming a simple,down—to—earth,poetic and personalized language.He made important contributions to the development of the modern Chinese figure painting system.Therefore,Fang Zengxian will also shine in the galaxy of world art history.
