An Economic Study On The Evolution Of China's Funeral System

At present,the social funeral situation has seriously affected the social order and the social economy.The funeral and burial industry has been listed in the list of“China's Top Ten Profiteering Industries" for nine consecutive years since 2003.People complain about the existing funeral system.The call for the construction of the funeral system is also very high.Social contradictions are the source of research problems,and their research and analysis can be carried out from multiple angles.For the study of a large number of funeral status,more attention is paid to a question.Why does China's funeral life not continue to develop and improve with economic development,but it has become worse and become one of the key areas of national rectification?Further thinking:"Is there a relationship between changes in funeral status and institutional changes?" If so,what is the evolutionary logic of the funeral system itself?What factors determine the actual funeral system?Can the welfare-oriented funeral system effectively change the atmosphere of the masses'burial and burial?Research on the funeral field is rich,but most of them are studied from the aspects of funeral customs,etiquette,modern funeral reform,funeral regulations and policies,funeral infrastructure construction,and funeral services.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the evolution of the Chinese funeral system by economic methods,to ease the social conflicts of funeral,to guide the healthy development of the funeral industry,and to meet the people's needs for a better life.This paper mainly analyzes and summarizes in the following aspects:(1)Using the relevant theories of new institutional economics,constructing the basic framework of the evolution of China's funeral system,and analyzing the mechanism of action and constraints.According to the previous research results,the paper analyzes the basic characteristics of the evolution of China's funeral system with the characteristics of government-led,welfare trends and compulsory institutional arrangements.Then,using the relevant theories and methods of new institutional economics,the framework of the evolution of Chinese funeral system is constructed.It is based on the institutional design under the guidance of the change of mainstream ideas.It is the inherent demand of the contractual relationship.At the same time,due to the change of factor endowments,it reflects the result of the system and improves the design of the funeral system.In the process of designing the funeral system,it is subject to social and cultural constraints,property rights constraints,social cost constraints,and the path dependence of the public to adapt to the new system.(2)Analyze the evolution of the historical funeral system,obtain the law of the evolution of the heavy and buried funeral culture in the funeral culture,and analyze the behavioral evolution of the government and the folk groups against the funeral activities.Based on the premise of the evolution of the historical funeral system,the law of the cultural change of thick funeral and plain funeral was obtained.Based on this,an evolutionary game model of official intervention in folk funeral behavior based on evolutionary game theory was established.The choice of strategy leads to the evolutionary stability strategy,and the conclusion is as follows:Increasing the subsidy for the funeral of the people can not improve the degree of interference of the masses,and only evolves in the direction of not accepting interference;the unequal negotiation power will cause different evolutionary progress of the other party;There are only two evolutionary trends in China,either completely accepting intervention,or not interfering,not accepting interference,and not having a third evolutionary trend;the official and non-governmental large groups in the game are not without common ground,when the government chooses different y strategies.,you can judge the strength of the corresponding x,and then choose the appropriate evolution path and the degree of intervention.(3)Studying and sorting out the funeral policy documents promulgated after the founding of New China,analyzing the quantity,structure,content and policy of the funeral policy documents,and conducting a historical analysis of the evolution of China's funeral policy.The evolution of funeral policy is from a single comprehensive administrative order to the basic public service of funeral and multi-sectoral macro-control.The goal of funeral policy gradually evolves from the idea of undertaking reform to the equalization of basic funeral services.The policy tools are mainly based on mandatory policy tools.Evolved into a hybrid policy tool,changes in policy tools reflect the transformation of government functions.The scope of policy-making departments has expanded from a single department to more than 20 departments.The value of policy units has gradually declined,and the strength of fluctuations has stabilized.(4)Based on the Douglas production function,the basic static economic model of the total income of the funeral industry is constructed.On this basis,the spatial measurement model expansion and threshold analysis are carried out.The results of the test model show that the income level of the funeral industry is significantly positively correlated with economic growth.There is a significant spatial spillover effect on the consumption level and the fixed assets of the funeral enterprise,and the indirect effect of the investment in the fixed assets of the funeral enterprise is greater than the direct effect in the region.There are two main reasons:First,under the influence of external economies of scale,the investment of local funeral enterprises has played a good role in demonstrating the surrounding areas.The surrounding areas are affected by the spillover of fixed assets of local funeral enterprises,which in turn affects the total income of the funeral industry.Second,affected by economic development,mainly due to the increase in consumption levels,the consumption in the funeral industry began to shift to the surrounding areas,which in turn affected the total income of the local funeral industry,indicating that there is indeed a spatial spillover effect on the improvement of consumption levels.According to the threshold regression results,the development of the funeral industry in China during this period can be divided into two stages.Although the income level of the funeral industry is significantly positively correlated with economic growth at each stage,the coefficient of the resident consumption level from the explanatory variables is explained.The change in value can be found that with the growth of China's economy,the effect of rising consumption levels on the income level of the funeral industry is steadily weakening,indicating that the development of the funeral industry in China has been effective in recent years.
