Research On The Reform Countermeasures Of China’s Urban Funeral Industry Based On Gvernment Regulation

Since the ancient times funeral is an important part of social activities. Death is also a life process that everyone must go through. To finish the last journey of their life with dignity is basic rights that everyone should enjoy. But with China’s funeral and interment market gradually open up, there are many issues appeared in the funeral industry, such as profits and monopoly, which seriously make damage to the people’s basic rights of funeral and interment, and disrupt the orderly operation of the funeral market.The government has an irreplaceable role and an inescapable responsibility to cover the failure of the funeral marker. China’s funeral reform has gone through more than half a century, at present it has taken a major step toward huimin funeral, green funeral and technological funeral. Our country’s funeral service is divided into basic funeral service and extended funeral service. Basic funeral service has a significant effect in protecting the people’s basic interests of funeral and interment. However, under the influence of administrative monopoly, the unreasonable price regulation mechanism and the imperfect social regulation standard, there are many problems in the funeral industry of our country. For example, the entry of private capital is existing barriers, the price and quality of funeral services and products are high and low, the health and safety of funeral workers are not effectively protected, and so on. If we want to solve these problems existing in the funeral industry gradually, the government must play a leading role. By improving economic regulation, strengthening social regulation and standardizing administrative regulation, to build a healthy and orderly funeral market, ultimately achieve the equalization of basic funeral service, and meet the masses’ diversified requirements of funeral and interment.On the basis of discussing the significance and necessity of China’s urban funeral industry regulation, this paper further reveals and describes the current situation and problems of urban funeral industry regulation. Then, based on the perspective of government regulation, it investigates the causes of monopoly and profits in China’s funeral industry. Finally from the perspective of economic regulation, social regulation and administrative regulation, this paper puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions on deepening the reform of China’s urban funeral industry. At the same time, according to the specific situation in our country, we can draw lessons from foreign successful experience.
