Body And Humanness

The reason to discuss ethical issue in the practice of sports is that man's sport activity brings about body crisis which,although a direct result of man's irrational sports,is inevitable in terms of man's value or interest need.Man reforms his body because of his value need.To base his reform on his own interest is a reflection of human-centered value concept.In view of the principle of internal agreement,this value concept is not only the basis of man's physical reform,it should also be the basis of man's ethical treatment of his body.However,to humanly treat his body on the basis of his own interest and need means man will be ethical to his body only if it accords with his interest.Ethically the human-centered value concept follows the social contract theory pattern of equal give and take,but this ethic pattern does not fully suit the relationship between man and his body because it's not possible for body to have an equal dialogue with the man.Thus,this human-centered value concept cannot really embody man's ethics.Facing body crisis,the purpose of exploring the ethical and philosophical basis of body reform is to determine the reasons for man's human treatment of his body which should be related to man's own morality and his levels of consciousness.In other words,man's moral obligation to his body is based on his kindness,altruism and humanness.In the research of humanness both home and abroad,it is a common sense to use humanity as a basic yardstick for value and morality.Nevertheless,while analyzing theories concerning humanity,it's easy to find out that these concepts of humanity share the nature of anti-body,which,therefore,can't be the basis for man to fulfill his ethic duty to his body.Only the humanity based on harmony between man and his body could become the ethical foundation of man's physical reform.Theoretically,only after we illustrate the causal relation between body crisis and humanity can we explain the necessity of identifying humanity of harmony between man and his body.According to Marx's philosophy of man being an objective existence,since body crisis is the result of man's irrational sport practice,it is then man's work of sport and his sport reality from which man can interpret himself.Of course,what body crisis presents is not the good but the evil in humanity.Body crisis actually is humanity crisis and it is the lost of self and real existence.Humanity crisis results from the reverse of “need” and “desire” and from teh enslaving of man by his “desire”.To solve body crisis,it's necessary to relieve humanity crisis first.Based on Prof.Cao's ecological theory of man's natural generation and Heidegger's theory of man being the guardian of existence,only when man moves to natural generation of his body can he find his real existence and only the humanity of natural generation and harmony can be the ethic foundation of man's reform of his body.After man generates the humanity of harmony,it will contain the internal requirement of moral treatment of man to his body.From this perspective,sport reform of body is not out of man's interest but his humanity;it's not the channel to pursue value but the presentation of man's nature.Also from this perspective,sport practice is not only the practice to realize the value of man's body.it's also the practice of ethic treatment to man's body.Sport is the practice of naturalization of man's body and the good to man's body.If man reforms his body on the basis of humanity of harmony,he can definitely generate a harmonious,healthy and beautiful body.Facing his body,this humanity will guide man to his perfection and ultimately shape him into a real ethic person to his body.
