New technologies such as the Internet of Things,5G,big data and digital twin have been widely applied in many different industries and organizations.Limitations of an organization’s in-house knowledge are further highlighted and the difficulty of innovation is increasing.Open innovation has become a long-term strategy chosen by more and more organizations.Throughout the open innovation process,the flow of knowledge in time and space,as well as the creation,application,and innovation of knowledge causes a "field" effect.This study focuses on the open innovation mode and its mechanism from a knowledge field perspective.Using knowledge field as an important variable,this study explores the coexistence of knowledge field and the open innovation concept and offers solutions on how to improve organizational innovation ability through influencing knowledge field via innovation mode changes.Firstly,through logical deduction and induction,the elements of knowledge field are extracted and the dynamic research framework of open innovation mode and influence mechanism of organizational innovation ability is constructed.Secondly,the study proves that the knowledge field activity has a positive regulatory effect on the bidirectional open innovation and organizational innovation ability and innovation performance.Thirdly,the dynamism of knowledge field activity plays an intermediary role on the agglomeration open innovation concept and ability.Based on this foundation,an organizational agglomeration innovation ability evaluation model is constructed.The model can be interpreted via quantitative analysis and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation methods.Finally,the study finds a set of conditions that will achieve stability and balance within the open innovation system.The factors that affect these conditions are as follows:symbiotic income,distribution coefficient,knowledge field activity and clutch tendency coefficient.With each variable able to be isolated for individual study,the improvement mechanism of organizational symbiotic innovation ability can be obtained.In conclusion,the theoretical contributions of this paper consists mainly of the following four points:Firstly,based on knowledge flow theory and field theory,this paper includes the physical and social attributes of knowledge field into the same research framework,obtains the main factors from the three dimensions of knowledge field,knowledge implicit dominance,knowledge dimension,knowledge dimension,knowledge heterogeneity and support policy;constructing three dimensional theory of knowledge field activity.From the perspective of dynamic evolution,using the method of theoretical deduction,this paper derive the joint path of open innovation and knowledge field:the innovation mode evolves from inbound-outbund open innovation to agglomeration open innovation,then from the reevolution to the ecological and open innovation;the transition trajectory of the knowledge field moves from a two-source knowledge field to the combined knowledge field,then the transition to the compound knowledge field;it reveals the connotation characteristics of different form knowledge field:in the two-source knowledge field,knowledge flow is mainly about explicit knowledge,knowledge sources include partner with specific innovation objectives,the direction of knowledge flow is mainly outgoing and introverted;the combined knowledge field is composed of small and medium-sized enterprises gathering around the core enterprises,the field contains multiple related knowledge sources,professional and diversified combination fields require enterprises to integrate knowledge,knowledge fields do not penetrate among knowledge sources,with complementary characteristics;compound knowledge field is the knowledge field generated under the ecological open innovation mode,after the superimposed knowledge field of the knowledge sources,the deep integration of knowledge appears.This study analyzes the evolutionary characteristics of the knowledge field from a dynamic perspective and provides researchers with new research perspectives.Secondly,using the method of combining literature research and empirical analysis,this paper obtains the action mechanism of different development and innovation modes,knowledge field activity and innovation ability,and reveals the improvement mechanism of organizational innovation ability under different open innovation modes.Under the inbound-outbound open innovation mode,the activity of knowledge field as a regulatory variable affects the relationship between open innovation mode and organizational innovation ability.Under the agglomeration open innovation mode,the knowledge field affects the relationship between open innovation mode and innovation ability with an intermediary role.Under the ecological open innovation mode,the knowledge field as the predominant variable affects the open innovation mode and the organizational innovation ability.The research results have theoretical guiding significance for the enterprises in the process of open innovation.Thirdly,from the perspective of knowledge field spatial model,the comprehensive evaluation system of organization agglomeration innovation ability is constructed,and the evaluation model of organization agglomeration innovation ability based on combining hierarchical analysis and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is constructed,which provides concrete practical’methods for enterprise innovation ability evaluation.Lastly,this paper obtains the conditions for the ecological open innovation mode to achieve stability and equilibrium,and gives the basis for the choice of game innovation strategy:improve the activity of compound knowledge field,reduce the clutch tendency of the enterprises in the ecological open innovation system prefer to realize ecological winwin;the symbiotic innovation strategy is conducive to the improvement of organizational innovation ability.
