The transition from fossil energy to renewable energy is an inevitable requirement for China’s high quality economic development to green economic development.“Green economy” has been regarded as the main direction, approach and trend of sustainable development worldwide since it was proposed.Renewable energy is an effective and important way to promote green development.China is a vast country with regional heterogeneity in resource factors and economic development patterns.Under the requirements of the “30·60” goal and the impact of the global new crown epidemic,it is urgent to focus and explore renewable energy development paths in different regions to promote the overall green and sustainable development of the country. The topic chosen for this paper is of great academic value and practical significance.Based on the perspective of green economy and focusing on the development of renewable energy in China, this paper conducts qualitative and quantitative research on key scientific issues such as renewable energy development and path analysis on the basis of systematic review and related theories and research, and mainly achieves the following innovative results:(1)the standard deviation ellipse method is used to analyze the time series evolution and spatial pattern characteristics of national and regional renewable energy development from six aspects. The results show that China’s renewable energy development mainly goes through three main stages.Renewable energy resources are richly endowed, forming a good spatial complementarity, but there are obvious regional differences between different energy types;(2)the combination of qualitative and quantitative weighting methods is used to construct a renewable energy green development index and indicator system, and the index is measured for the first time for eight economic regions in China.Measurement of China’s overall and provincial green economic development is based on real GDP and the SEEA accounting system. For the first time,a coupling coordination degree model of China’s renewable energy development and green GDP is constructed, and the coupling coordination relationship between regional renewable energy and green economic development is analyzed. The results show that the China’s overall development of renewable energy is improving, featuring the spatial pattern of “the west is better than that of the east, south is superior to the north”.The regional variation coefficient shows a “counterclockwise”downward trend starting from northwest China. The spatial distribution of “green gap”increases in the shape of “6”,and the per capita green GDP in the three economic zones of ‘eastern central and western China” shows an obvious step-down and “X-shaped’spatial pattern of “southeast is stronger than northwest and northeast is stronger than southwest”.The overall development and strong mutual influence of renewable energy is realized from the steady improvement of green economy from 2015 to 2019;however,in the eight regions, the coupling degree of northwest China, which is rich in renewable energy resources, and the eastern coastal region, which is relatively developed,is at a low level, and the coordination degree of multiple provinces and cities is in a state of running-in or even confrontation;(3)using the spatial autocorrelation test method and the spatial durbin model based on three spatial weights to analyze the spatial spillover effects of regional renewable energy on the green economy. The results show that both renewable energy and green economy are spatially agglomerated globally. There is a spatial spillover effect of renewable energy development on the green economy and a negative suppression of the surrounding areas, with the spatial effect at the regional level decreasing in significance in the eastern, western and central China, the coefficient of influence being the largest in the west;(4)through system dynamics,a complex system model of “green economy-renewable energy-environment” is constructed, and four scenarios are combined to simulate and analyze key indicators such as carbon emissions, green economy and renewable energy generation in the four major regions of China from 2020 to 2040.The results show that, except for the northwest and southwest regions, which have a certain pressure on the “carbon peaking” target, the other three regions can achieve the carbon peaking time requirements, and each region needs to adopt the different development paths and patterns of renewable energy development in the short, medium and long term;(5)based on the above conclusions, under the low-carbon green goal,in order to better achieve the coordinated development of renewable energy regions themselves and between regions, this paper puts forward corresponding policy suggestions.
