Research On The Patriotic Health Movement In Northeast China In The Early Period Of PRC(1949-1956)

In the early period of the People’s Republic of China(PRC),the Communist Party of China(CPC)faced “the grim situation and test of the annual incidence of about 140 million people,the mortality rate of more than 30 ‰,of which more than 50 % died of preventable infectious diseases”.The diseases that caused the greatest damage to people’s lives are plague,cholera,measles,smallpox,dysentery,typhoid,fever,etc.Other diseases that endanger people’s physical and mental health,such as kala-azar,schistosomiasis,malaria,leprosy,venereal disease,etc.,are also extremely harmful,and always regarded the life and health of the people as a top priority.The superiority of the socialist system is life first and the people first.The early period of the PRC(1949-1956)is a very important historical period.China transitioned from a new democratic society to a socialist society.The CPC led the people of all ethnic groups across the country from a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society to independence and self-reliance.Step by step,we restored production,sanitation and epidemic prevention,stabilize the economy,ended political turmoil,resisted the United States and aid the DPRK,fought the U.S.bacterial war,carried out patriotic health campaigns,implemented land reform,liberated the whole of China(except Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan),suppressed counter-revolutionaries,consolidated the regime,“three antis” and “five antis”political movements,and formulate the first “five-year plan”.To realize public-private partnerships,complete the three major transformations,strengthen the construction of socialist culture...Inspired by patriotism,the whole country has rapidly entered the primary stage of socialism.The patriotic health movement is integrated into the production,life and learning of thousands of households and is inseparable from the people.The health theory of Marx,Engels and Lenin is based on the life and health of the proletariat and the people,striving for the right to survival for the general public and safeguarding the health rights and interests of the proletariat and the people.Marxist health view holds that human beings regulate life and health,production and life through medical and health care,thus affecting the production and development of population and materials.During the period of low productivity,the level of medical and health care is limited,and the development of population production is bound to be slow;only by raising the level of health care,human beings can develop healthily and accelerate progress.On the basis of inheriting the Marxist health theory and combining with the specific national conditions at the beginning of the founding of the People’s Republic of China,Mao Zedong,Zhou Enlai and other leaders led the Chinese people to carry out the patriotic health movement and invested a lot of manpower and property.In a few years from 1949 to 1956,they eliminated the diseases and epidemics that threatened China for many years,improved the health and epidemic prevention situation,The first automobile,the first car and the first10,000-ton cargo ship independently manufactured by China were all born in the northeast.It has played a pivotal role in the revival,development and take-off of China’s society and economy,made great contributions to the development and improvement of China ’s and even the world ’s epidemic prevention and health system,and also provided a powerful reference for the global fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic,demonstrating China ’s strength and spirit.For the research in this field,the academic community mainly focuses on specific issues or specific stages,and focuses more on micro-perspective research,while the exploration of systems based on macro dimensions is relatively weak.Therefore,whether it is to focus on academic research or to focus on the timing of major events,it is very necessary to comprehensively review the measures taken by the CPC to lead the people of Northeast China to implement the patriotic health campaign,constantly sum up experience and lessons,clarify deficiencies,learn from history and inspire the future.It is precisely because of the above thinking,based on the inheritance and analysis of the existing research results,this paper starts with the patriotic health movement in Northeast China from 1949 to 1956 with the main orientation of dialectical materialism and historical materialism,and summarizes it.Using literature analysis method,system analysis method,historical analysis method,cross-research method,etc.,multi-angle collection of archives,documents of the CPC,local chronicles,collation of policies and decrees issued by the people’s government,reports,newspapers,publications and images published by mainstream media,exploration of foreign declassified publications,historical materials,etc.,through the dual perspective of macro discussion and micro consideration.This thesis systematically examined the theoretical basis and historical thinking of our party’s mobilization and leadership of the people to promote the patriotic health movement in the early days of the founding of the PRC(1949-1956),further summarized the characteristics and experience,summarized the shortcomings and deficiencies,and more accurately discovered problems and solved contradictions in the future.Thesis discussed the background of the patriotic health movement in the northeast region in the early days of the founding of PRC,focused on the key concepts of this study from three dimensions-the objective conditions of patriotic health movement in northeast China(poor health and epidemic prevention),social roots(low level of health care),political background(the United States instigated bacterial warfare).Thesis elaborated the theoretical and historical basis of the patriotic health movement in Northeast China in the early days of the founding of PRC.This part mainly expounded the analysis of the founding of PRC in the early days of the communist party of China to carry out patriotic health movement followed what kind of basis,according to what theory,undertook what principle.Thesis mainly combed and analyzed the practice and measures of the patriotic health movement in northeast China from 1949 to 1956.Specifically,guided by problem thinking,this chapter reviewed and summarized in detail the historical period of the CPC to reshape the people’s health atmosphere,enhanced the people’s awareness of health and epidemic prevention,stimulated the people’s patriotic enthusiasm,strengthened scientific popularization and publicity and education,formulate new health development plans,build modern epidemic prevention institutions,create unique epidemic prevention methods,and actively promoted the development process of the patriotic health movement in Northeast China and the whole country.Thesis mainly combed and sorted out that the CPC led the people to effectively prevent and control diseases and epidemics,changed the people’s health concept,and improved the old appearance of health in Northeast China.In summary,during the early period of the PRC(1949-1956),the CPC has made great efforts to overcome all difficulties,to lead the northeast people’s development of the patriotic health movement,to promote China’s health and epidemic prevention undertakings,to against the "hanging war" of American imperialist bacteria,to change existing habits and customs,to promote the civilized transformation of the society,which played an important role.The firm determination of the CPC Central Committee and the people’s governments at all levels united all forces to overcome harsh conditions.The firm attitude of never "lying down" towards the dangerous epidemic,strong leadership in defending the people’s right to life and health in the current global fight against COVID-19,direct attack to public health emergencies provided a Chinese example.The Chinese people have united closely around the CPC to resist all epidemics and aggression and set an example for China as a socialist country.Past experience,is a guide for the future.Accordingly,it may be of great benefit to sort out the development and practice of the Patriotic Health movement in Northeast China(1949-1956)in the early days of the founding of PRC,accurately grasped the fundamental experience and lessons,to find and solve the contradictions,thus to give enlightenment to the present and the future.
