Hubei,as a concept of administrative region, dates back to the North Road of Jinghu in the Song Dynasty. In the Southern Song Dynasty, the internal political and economic structure of Hubei, which stressed the east and the West, gradually took shape. The eastern Ezhou has risen rapidly since the southern Song Dynasty. For a long time,Xiangyang has been the frontier of political confrontation, and its economic and social development has lagged behind.Jingzhou,as the ally of Jing and Xiang, has also suffered losses and is short of food and troops,we have to solve the economic and social problems by organizing the people’s volunteer armed forces and trying to push the opening up of farmlands and camp farmlands.Through the urban power structure in the southern Song Dynasty,it is not difficult to find that there was a certain degree of involution in Jiangling. The urban vitality and accumulation effect unleashed in Jiangling had degenerated from its peak state before the northern song and Middle Ages, and the city’s capacity for self-renewal and spatial expansion had gradually fallen into silence since the southern Song Dynasty.Like other cities in Hubei,Jingzhou was old and tired of dealing with and protecting itself from the internal and external troubles of the Southern Song Dynasty.During the song and Yuan Dynasties,Ezhou rose to become the provincial capital of Huguang, replacing Jingzhou for the first time and establishing itself as an absolute regional centre. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, this paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter discusses the situation of Hubei in the strategic layout of the Southern Song Dynasty. How did Hubei in the Southern Song Dynasty extend the definition of regional category from the concept of regional geography. This chapter focuses on the implementation of the national strategic policy of "making the north by the South" at the regional level in Hubei Province, which foreshadows the evolution of the relations between Jing and Hubei in Hubei Province during the southern Song Dynasty, the strategic thinking of "favoring the extreme side rather than the inferior side" weakened the status of the traditional regional center of Jingzhou and had a far-reaching influence on the whole historical process of Hubei.By examining the strategic background at the national level,we can see the drastic changes of the regional society in the southern Song Dynasty.Chapter two: The changes of Hubei Political Center in the Southern Song Dynasty around the competition between Jing and Hubei. In this chapter, the author reviews the rise and fall of power between Jing and Hubei in the former, middle and later period of the southern Song Dynasty. It focuses on how Jingzhou fell from the center of power in Hubei and how Ezhou rose from the Southern Song Dynasty. The third chapter analyzes the economic relations among Jing,Xiang and Hubei in the southern Song Dynasty. This chapter focuses on the basic economic situation and existing problems in thorns and Hubei, focuses on the factors that determine Ezhou’s economic dominance, and analyzes the economic communication between Xiangyang,Jing and Hubei, this paper tries to explain the effect and influence of Xiangyang on the competition process of Jing and Hubei by explaining the gains and losses of the policy and the difficulties in its implementation.Chapter Four: The study focuses on the respective satellite cities of Jing and E,Jingmen&Hanyang,This paper attempts to reveal the effect of external resource acquisition on the degree of development of Jing and E.The Fifth Chapter Discusses The status quo of Hubei as a typical "stealing area" and the construction of its local order. This chapter mainly focuses on the origin of the name of "stealing area" in Hubei Province in the southern Song Dynasty and the response to the social events such as the outbreak of Hukou and tea bandits in Hubei Province. It analyzes the influence of Jingnan’s situation and the background of the vigorous rise of local armed forces.Focusing on the typical volunteer armed forces of Jingnan, this paper focuses on the process and challenges of local governance and order construction in Hubei during the southern Song Dynasty.
