Research On Contemporary Chinese Cultural Identity From The Perspective Of Overall National Security Concep

Culture is the soul of a nation and country.The survival and development of a country cannot be separated from the nourishment of culture.In today’s world,culture,as an important source of national cohesion and creativity,has increasingly become an important factor in the competition of comprehensive national strength.After the Cold War,the influence of cultural factors on the international political situation has been steadily increasing,both international political confrontation and cultural conflicts have been regarded as the main reasons.In the waves of globalization,cultural identity has evolved into a strategic issue that constraints on national development.Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core creatively put forward the overall national security concept,which has been continuously enriched,developed and improved.From the perspective of the overall national security concept,this thesis related conceptual issues are explained in the first place,under the guidance of Marxist theory that systematically studies the three pairs of relationships between national security and national cultural security,national cultural security and cultural identity,national security and cultural identity by using research methods including the combination of history and logic,the combination of structure and function as well as interdisciplinary analysis,on the basis of relevant literatures.This thesis also answers a problem of "why" that combs the process of China’s cultural security construction,summarizes the achievements of China’s cultural identity construction,the challenges faced by contemporary China’s cultural identity;Besides,this thesis solve the problem of "how to do " from the dimension of practical logic by discussing how to construct contemporary Chinese cultural identity,how to boost the development of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics,how to safeguard national cultural security,and how to improve the overall national security level.Apart from the Introduction part,this thesis is comprised of six chapters.The first chapter comes with the relationship among national security,national cultural security and cultural identity,which mainly inspects the connotation and characteristics of the overall national security,and discusses the concept,connotation and interrelationship of the overall national security concept versus national security,national cultural security and cultural identity,emphasizes the function of cultural identity in the overall national security,and demonstrates the necessity of this study based on the above discussion.The second chapter is the theoretical logic of cultural identity,which mainly from the main body of cultural identity,the content of cultural identity and the realization of cultural identity to understand and grasp the logic of cultural identity.Marxism regards "realistic people" as the historical starting point,and cultural identity has an internal hierarchy.Cultural identity is closely related to national identity,national identity and political identity;The third chapter is about the theory,historical evolution and contemporary strategy of national cultural security,in analyzing the current situation of the development of national cultural security theory and contemporary China’s national cultural security strategy from the historical context,and further clarifies the importance of the overall national security concept which requires the overall planning of national cultural security;The fourth chapter is the spiritual structure of contemporary Chinese cultural identity,that systematically explains the spiritual structure of contemporary Chinese cultural identity,the subject connotation,and solves the direction of cultural identity;The fifth chapter is the empirical exploration and practical challenges of promoting cultural identity,discusses on three aspects:the cultural identity in the Sinicization of Marxism,the exploration of the experience gained in strengthening the construction of cultural identity since the new era,and the practical challenges faced by contemporary cultural identity,with the purpose of bridging the construction of contemporary cultural identity;The sixth chapter is the practical path of contemporary Chinese cultural identity,which mainly explores how to promote the construction of contemporary Chinese cultural identity through cultural integration and innovation,giving full play to cultural comparative advantages,establishing the concept of cultural governance and deepening the integration and mutual learning of civilizations.This study has some innovations in comparison to the existing ones.First,the topic selection of the thesis.Although bountiful results could be reached since the establishment of the concept of "overall national security",this thesis inventively studies overall national security on top of cultural identity,which has distinct characteristics of the times;Second,the research framework.This thesis links up three grand issues:national security.national cultural security and cultural identity,and discusses the relationship between the three from the perspective of theory,history and value,which improves the systematicness and comprehensiveness of the research;Third,the viewpoints of the research.For example,based on the close relationship between culture and politics,this thesis summarizes the spiritual structure of contemporary Chinese cultural identity;Linking up the results of other researches related to "cultural identity country" with the cultural comparative advantage of"Chinese characteristics",which deepen the research;Summarizing the "experience gained in strengthening the construction of cultural identity since the new era";Apply the concept of cultural governance to the construction of cultural identity,etc.Due to the limitations of my academic background and research vision,there are still some weaknesses in this thesis."Research on Contemporary Chinese cultural identity from the perspective of the overall national security concept" is a grand topic,which covers a wide range of subjects and involves different disciplines.It has high requirements for knowledge reserves and interdisciplinary tentacles,thus could not be fully explained within a thesis of just over one hundred thousand words.Although case studies are included in this thesis,data support is still not enough,and there is a large space for further research on this topic.
