Intangible cultural heritage documentaries have opened up a way for Chinese TV documentaries to refine national culture and deepen national memory for the past ten years.Whether it is "intangible cultural heritage" as a theme or "TV documentary" as a medium,there exists a deep connection between cultural memory and intangible cultural heritage.The special significance of incorporating the image texts in the academic field of cultural memory does not lie in the new changes in methodology,because the interrelated studies on memory and history,memory and media have already been widely applied in the humanities.The real inspiration it brings to the research of TV documentaries is that it explores the inherent ontological characteristics and extended cultural significance of images,observes the specific symbolic system,narrative mechanism,social value and aesthetic connotation of the works based on the theme,form,time and space of memory,etc.and deepens power of image interpretation.From the perspective of cultural memory theory,relevant research deals with the questions of how to recall,identify and inherit memory.This thesis takes intangible cultural heritage documentaries as the research object and further explores the questions accordingly:How does the image writing of memory shape the relationship between the present and the past? what kind of cultural memory is constructed by intangible cultural heritage documentaries? How does the memory site in the documentary complete the inquiring of identity? With the directions pointed out by these questions as clues,this thesis explores the ability of intangible cultural heritage documentaries to use the "past" to serve the "present" and "future".Firstly,it demonstrates the theoretical basis of TV documentaries as a medium of cultural memory,and reveals the relationship between the media characteristics of TV documentaries and the memory mechanism,based on three levels of authenticity,continuity and publicity.Through retrospection and integration of the film history pedigree of intangible cultural heritage documentaries,it combines with the connotation of the era of intangible cultural heritage protection,and points out that intangible cultural heritage TV documentaries are works that use images to describe the manifestation,inheritance system,reference to objects,memory space and cultural implication of intangible cultural heritage.Taking this as the premise of the discussion,it focuses on the texts of intangible cultural heritage documentaries to discuss the interweaving and reflection of different memory forms such as festival memory,life memory and intergenerational memory,so as to construct a situation of pursuing a better life which is abstracted from a realistic picture,that is,from "mountains and seas" to "urban and rural areas",from "market wells" to "ancient buildings".In this picture,the non-hereditary indigenous model and its implication of human ethic are expounded concretely and subtly from textual examples,such as mentoring,apprenticeship,and family.In order to construct the memory place,the intangible cultural heritage documentaries use the distinctive national symbols and commemorative colors to check the referential meaning of cultural symbols from the spatial dimension,and examine the identity symbols of intangible inheritance from the time clue,which shows the symbol of memory presentation.The shape of the audio-visual language is used as the appearance of the symbol to elucidate the inner rhythm of memory and poetry,especially the expression of traditional aesthetic spiritual categories such as "harmony between man and nature" and "The Development from Technique to Tao" contained in the text.Finally,TV documentaries are considered as "national photo albums",with the function of condensing national memory and ultimate appeal of calling and identification of national cultural identity.If the cultivation of time and space and the emotionalization of aesthetics have the effect of curing the anxiety of national cultural identity,the cultural memory deeply rooted in the original level of intangible cultural heritage documentaries has laid the foundation for the building of a memory community,and also brought the possibility for the transition from the memory community to the human destiny community in the video field.
