The scenic figures are important visual elements in China’s landscape paintings.The appearance of a large number of scenic figures in the landscape paintings of the Song Dynasty started the era,which intuitively showed the daily life,cultural concepts and artistic interests of the Song Dynasty.In the history of painting in the Song Dynasty,the landscape figures in landscape works are rich in categories and large in number,and have formed their own manifestations in different periods.In this paper,it is noted that the scenic figures,as the visual elements in the landscape painting,play a unique role in the spatial construction and artistic conception construction of landscape painting.By expounding the different spatial forms,spatial interaction and composition schema of the scenic figures,the relationship between the scenic figures and the metaphor and artistic conception construction of the landscape images in the Song Dynasty is discussed,and then the changes of the landscape concepts and thoughts in the Song Dynasty presented by the morphological changes of the scenic figures are analyzed from the macro historical perspective.First of all,this paper combs the images of figures and landscape nature in the painting history before the Song Dynasty,looking for the cultural connotation presented by the combination of man and mountain in different times,and then providing the historical background for the explosive emergence of figures in the landscape of the Song Dynasty.On this basis,through the statistics and table arrangement of the figures’ numbers,identities and genres in the landscape paintings of the Song Dynasty,the basic forms are presented in a quantitative way,which provides data evidence for the specific research in the following.Secondly,in the part of the ontology of landscape characters,the identity definition and spatial form of landscape characters in the Song Dynasty were analyzed from the content and form,and they were divided into six types of characters,namely,literati hermit,boatman and fisherman,traveler,countryman farmer,merchant and merchant,and aristocratic official.Starting from the visual picture form,this paper tried to consider the three spatial forms of independence,companionship and arrangement of different landscape characters in the visual space of works and explain their combination.In addition,the local space of the point-scene characters with different identities and forms is put into the overall space of the landscape paintings of the Song Dynasty to discuss,and the image interaction between the point-scene characters and other elements begins,thus laying a cultural and aesthetic logic for the emergence of different schema combinations.On the basis of the above analysis,this paper focuses on the body,space and symbolism of the scenic characters,so as to study the changes of landscape concepts and ideas in the Song Dynasty when the scenic characters participate in space creation.Based on the physical state of "wandering","looking" and "smelling" displayed by scenic spots from the Northern Song Dynasty to the Southern Song Dynasty,combined with the interpretation of the proportion,quantity and identity changes of scenic spots in different periods,we can present the unique symbolism of scenic spots in the Song Dynasty,that is,the characteristics of image metaphor and artistic conception creation.Finally,this paper focuses on the macro perspective of the art history of the Song Dynasty,and analyzes the evolution of the subjective landscape thought from the objective landscape of the Northern Song Dynasty to the subjective landscape of the Southern Song Dynasty from the perspective of the scenic figures,detailing the particularity and important functions of the scenic figures as the visual elements of the landscape. |
