China’s labor misallocation is serious, and the demographic dividend gradually disappears.Improving the efficiency of labor allocation is a critical path for China’s economic transformation. At the same time, the impact of productive services on economic development is increasing.especially the large-scale investment in the transportation infrastructure of transportation services, rapid penetration of inclusive finance of financial services, and rapid development of the digital economy of information services. However, the impact of transportation infrastructure, financial inclusion, and digital economy on labor misallocation needs to be further explored. In view of this, this dissertation takes the new characteristics of China’s economy as an opportunity to study the impact of productive services on labor misallocation. This dissertation specifically studies how transportation infrastructure, inclusive finance and digital economy in productive services affect labor misallocation,so as to provide reference for effectively releasing the improvement effect of productive services on labor misallocation. This dissertation is carried out according to the research steps of raising questions, theoretical analysis and research hypothesis, index calculation and analysis, effect evaluation, and countermeasures and suggestions.Chapter one is the introduction, which raises questions, clarifies the research object and research category of this dissertation, grasps the literature background, and provides a technical route. The second chapter provides the theoretical basis and research hypothesis for the following research. The third chapter establishes the multi-region production problem with factor price distortion and defines the competitive equilibrium, deduces the calculation method of regional labor misallocation to provide data support for the empirical analysis in the following dissertation, and further analyzes the spatiotemporal differences of labor misallocation by Kernel density estimation,Dagum Gini coefficient and Markov chain method.Chapter 4,chapter 5,and Chapter 6 are the empirical analysis part.Through static panel model, dynamic panel model, mediation effect model, threshold model, and other measurement methods,we empirically study the impact of transportation infrastructure, inclusive finance, and digital economy on labor misallocation, including transmission mechanism, heterogeneity analysis, etc. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Most eastern regions exhibit labor under-allocation,while central and western regions are over-allocated.The dispersion degree of labor misallocation decreases gradually in the whole country and the eastern region, while the dispersion degree changes little in the central and western regions. The differences between the regions of labor force misallocation from large to small are the west-east region,middle-east region, and middle-west region in descending order. The contribution rates of the three sources of regional differences are in descending order:inter-regional difference,intra-regional difference, and super variable density. The probability of labor misallocation maintaining the original state is significant, and there is no tendency to transfer to the optimal allocation state.(2)Productive services such as transportation infrastructure construction, inclusive finance development, and digital economy development can significantly improve regional labor misallocation, but the effects are heterogeneous.Transportation infrastructure construction has a greater improvement effect on labor misallocation in central China. The improvement effect of inclusive finance on labor misallocation is stronger in cities with lower urbanization levels and cities with lower financial development levels, and more significant in central and western regions. The role of the digital economy in alleviating labor misallocation is greater in developed cities and eastern regions.(3)Different productive services affect labor misallocation through some same but some different channels.Transportation infrastructure and digital economy can improve labor misallocation through market size effect, market competition effect, labor pool effect, and human capital effect, while inclusive finance mainly improves labor misallocation through labor pool effect and human capital effect.(4)Further extended analysis based on transportation infrastructure found that the more the industrial structure shifts to the tertiary industry, the more the transportation infrastructure can improve the labor misallocation. When the government intervention is reasonable, the transportation infrastructure will have the most significant degree of alleviation in labor misallocation. The innovations are mainly reflected in the following aspects :(1)From the perspective of research, productive services are included in the research framework of labor misallocation, which provides a new perspective for the study of labor misallocation.(2)In terms of the mechanism, labor misallocation is separated from the overall resource allocation efficiency, and three relatively complete theoretical analysis frameworks are established.(3)In terms of data indicators, the prefecture-level city data are used to measure the regional labor misallocation in China, which provides more microscopic evidence for relevant research on the influencing factors of labor misallocation.
