Optical vortices are intriguing special optical structures with screw wave-front and a phase singularity,As a branch of optics ,which attract much attention for their application aspects. This kind of special optical field has been applied in many fields that include optical micromanipulation, nonlinear optics, biomedicine, and optics quantum information processing. In this paper, we explored the specialty of optical vortices and studied the interference of different optical vortices by both theoretical analysis and simulation. The major content and result are as follows:1.The properties of optical vortices are introduced concisely. The history and the main developments of the optical vortices are reviewed, and their main applications and the purpose of the paper are also summarized.2.The fundamental theory of optical vortices is introduced.Firstly optical vortices is defined and described in mathematics specifically.It is shown that the rotation direction of optical vortices is associated with the positive or negative topology. Then, we introduced several common vortices features in laboratory, from the intensity and phase distribution of the light beam.3.By analysis a canonical and non-canonical optical vortices, we known the phase of canonical is a circular contours, and the non-canonical phase is a elliptical contours. then, we researched the dynamic trajectories of vortices in linear and nonlinear media. Result that the dynamic trajectories of the vortices can be controlled by the non-canonical strength of the input dislocations.4.By the interference of different optical vortices, we can obtain complex optical vortices. The vortices take on novel intensity and phase distribution. The interference of the symmetric circular optical vortices is studied by both theoretical analysis and simulation. By change the vortex number, topological charge or the relation displacement parameter, the symmetric optical vortex is obtained. This is an availability method for the interference of complex optics field.
