The development of technology is very rapid currently, so is the optical technology. Many new technologies appeared in optical area such as photo-communication, photon calculating, optical storage, biophoton technology, photovoltaics and so on. They impact our modern life more and more deeply. The rise of new optical industry demands more and more optical technology professionals annually and prompts many colleges and universities to set up a new field of optics courses. In China, educators begin to focus on the basic optical education and continually study new ways of optics teaching.By referring to a large number of references, the thesis firstly introduces the history and status about Chinese optics teaching, and it divides optics teaching history into four stages, that is, forepart stage, formation and development stage, maintenance stage in a war and unprecedented prosperity. Secondly, the thesis analyzes the current problems about optics teaching and their influence by research. Meanwhile, it elaborates the difficulties of optics teaching and the reasons for these difficulties of optics teaching with the problems. And the thesis expounds the effect, which problems and difficulties bring on inspiring students' interesting in learning optics. In this thesis, the subject concentrate on listing four teaching means about how to stimulate students'interesting in learning optics, that is, the education of penetrated optical history, questions guided education, lab-classroom integrated education and computer simulation introduced education. The thesis introduces the function of these teaching means and lists some examples. Lastly, this thesis lists Optics courses and processes at M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Web top optics teaching at Mississippi State University. These foreign country teaching means are different from domestic ones and they have reference value for our optics teaching.Optics teaching continues to be explored all the time. This exploration needs a long time. Looking for a set of teaching means which matches Chinese college optics education is not easy. It takes more time and attention for researchers to find new teaching mode and new teaching idea.
