| The rapid development of information technology has injected new vitality into the map visualization, meanwhile, a variety of electronic maps have come into being and gradually become the mainstream form of map products. Multimedia technology and map visualization were organically integrated in multimedia maps which could visually express and transmit spatial information through visualization of multi-channel perception such as dynamic, interactive, audio-visual form. Therefore, it could effectively guide the user to read so as to enhance user experiences and improve the efficiency of information transmission, for which its applications continue to be expanded.Although the multimedia maps have made breakthrough in the manifestation as well as the producing methods of traditional paper maps, the design should follow the theory and principles of basic map design. This paper analyzed the multimedia technology of electronic maps and its role in information transmission. Under the theory of map perception, information transmission, spatial cognition, and human-computer interaction, the paper discussed such key technologies of multimedia map information system as dynamic interaction design, human-computer interface design, data organization, and function design, and puts forward the corresponding design proposal of "user-centered" multimedia map visualization. Then, based on the graphics software such as Flash and CorelDraw as a platform, the "user-centered" map visualization design and implementation were exhibited with concrete practices. Finally, the paper summarized the research and points out what were to further study and improve. The study put the "user-centered" design concept into Flash multimedia map visualization, which greatly enriched user experiences and improved the artistry and availability of multimedia map products. It provided good references to the status quo of paying attention to technologies but not the effects in the field of the current "spatial information visualization design and development". Meanwhile, the applications and study in the field could draw on the experiences of it in the future. |
