A Multi-view Multimedia Interactive Map Designed For Inner-building Navigation

Study of multi-media navigation map has covered a range of countries, regions, cities and streets. Multi-media navigation map is one of the key components in location based service (LBS), which is widely applied in various industries. As increasing of inner-space complexity, demand of inner-building navigation maps has been more explicit. And it is the most effective way of building micro-scale inner-building maps. In this article, after systematically analyzing the users’ requirement and characteristics, general principles and methods of function and visual design are putting forward. Then a navigation map system was born integrating the advantage of electronic map interaction, multi-source thematic information and new display media such as touch screen, etc. These are research objectives of this article. Designing an inner-space navigation map has not only an important practice value, but also a great help to enrich the theoretical connotation and compiling technology of thematic maps and expand the application extension.This article takes an example of Resources and Environment Building in East China Normal University, respectively discussing how to design a multimedia teaching inner-building map, as well as meeting targets of functional, artistic and interactive. It mainly carries out from the following aspects:(1) Study at research status and trends of multimedia electronic inner-building maps to establish basic research ideas and methods.(2) Restructure and expand relative theories of map visualization theory, spatial cognition theory, map feeling theory and the stage theory to guide map designing later.(3) Attempt to reach the goals of "functional, artistic add interactive" respectively from three aspects:experience of the map functions design, aesthetes of form design and strategies of interactive design, introducing general methods how to design and implement the basic functions and auxiliary functions, and how to make the interface designing, color designing and symbols designing in an electronic-media-based navigation map in detail. Besides, the author studies at strategy of structure interaction, positioning interaction and behavior interaction.(4) Introduce in detail the techniques of data processing and dynamic production from technical aspects, and experience a whole process from map conception to map design and eventually realize it.
