In 1987 E.Yablonovitch and S.John pointed out the conception of photonic crystal,which propagated in the material with periodically distr-ibuted dielectric constant and can be change the behavior of photons,so it have attracted great attention due to their potential scientific value a-nd wide applications.Different methods have been used to reseach the f abrication techniques,theories and optical properties of photonic lattices by the reseach groups and over the word,and great progresses have b-een obtained,but the application and the reseach of photonic lattices is 1 imited because of the traditional fabrication techniques of photonic latti-ces has the disadvantages of complicated techniques,long fabrication pe-riod and small area.Currently,light-induced methods of fabricating various integrated ph-otorefractive photonic lattices attract much research interest as a recogn-ized technology for simplest,direct and cost-effective.In this thesis,a nov-el methods, lens-agglutinated Method has successfully fabricated large-ar ea of photorefractive photonic lattices in iron-doped lithium niobate cry-stals,The optical properties of photonic lattice in wirelike defect states h as been deeply researched in experiment.The evolution of beam formate optical soliton state when sending a stripe beam into a two-dimensional square photonic lattices in a certain experimental condition,and research on the theoretics and experiment. The main works are as follows:1. In this article, the optical properties of photonic lattices with line-ar-defect which fabricated on the self-defocusing LiNbO3:Fe crystal ha s been reseached useing the experimental method.Experimental results s-how that the optical properties of linear-defect photonic lattices influen-ced by many factors,such as the period of lattice, the angle of defects,l attice columns between the linear-defect and so on.2. A new method,which fabricate photorefractive photonic lattice was studied in this paper,and name the method of lens-agglutinated method. We fabricated triumphantly 1D and 2D photonic lattices in LiNbO3:Fe crystal with this method which we dreamt up,and we analyzed the prin-cipium of it. This method not only can be comed into being the great area of interference pattern what is significative to fabricating the great area photorefrective photonic lattices,but also can be altered the period s of lattices in succession. It had been testify that this method is feasi-ble and ascendant in fabricating photonic lattice and very significant for the study and fabrication of photonic lattice3. In the experiment,we observe the formation of optical soliton trai-ns in optically-induced photonic lattices which fabricated in LiNbO3:Fe crystal.Such soliton trains are generated by sending a stripe beam into a two-dimensional square lattice in a certain experimental condition. Th-e experimental results and the theoretical analysis show that there are many factors in formating optical soliton trains,such as the width of st-ripe beam, spatial period of photonic lattice and the change extent of t-he refractive index. This experimental results is very significant for the study of photorefractive soliton and other novel solitons in other Nonli-near discrete systems.
