Climate Change is nowadays getting more and more attention all over the world. It can be defined as a very serious environmental problem which relates to global governace issue and its impacts has shown themselves in different regions of the earth variously. This paper is a comprehensive study and practical analysis of cooperation on coping with the problem of climate change in Southeast Asia. This paper suggests that climate change has posed serious threat to the economic and society development of Southeast Asia and the characteristics of transnational impacts calls for intense need to get involved in cooperation for every single country in this region. This paper mainly examines what ASEAN has done in promoting cooperation in dealing with climate change. It can be found that Southeast Asia as a whole region has already formed clear acknowledgement and policy foresight in the field of cooperation to strike back climate change by analyzing all of related agreements or declarations released by a series of meetings held by senior officials from ASEAN countries, implementation, however, needs more devotion. This paper also analyzes the situation of cooperation in this region through several different theoretical perspectives like functionalism which belongs to theories of international cooperation and finally proposes some feasible advices.
