With the deepening of exploration and development, log explanation is more and more difficult. On the basis of the integrated application of various data, we need to change the thinking, to improve the successful rates of the interpretation of oil and water layers. Currently the study for formation water in the Shahejie formation of Dongying hollow is less, especially the study for the distribution of formation water, apparent resistivity distribution of formation water.In this paper, formation water from Shahejie formation of Dongying depression is studied. First, the properties of the formation water, including physical and chemical properties, water type, and depth characteristics, are analyzed in detail and comprehensively. Then, based on the water analysis data, formation water from four layers of Shahejie are studied respectively, and salinity distribution of various layers from Shahejie formation are get. At last, based on experimental data, the effect of formation water on formation electric property, formation porosity index n, and saturation index n, under different salinity and different water saturation conditions are studied.In this paper, we use the reverse way of thinking to determine the water layer firstly and then determine the oil layer. Based on the characteristic analysis of formation water In Dongying hollow Shahejie Formation, we study the change law of formation water in the various layers respectively, to provide a more reliable resistivity of formation water for the log interpretation, thereby enhancing the accuracy of interpretation. At the same time we use the m, a value in different regions provided by logging and calculates the apparent resistivity of the water layer by Archie formula, to search the distribution rule of the apparent resistivity of the water layer. Finally, we provide reference and guidance for the process of searching low resistivity reservoir and excluding the high water blocking layer.Formation water resistivity is the key parameter of the log interpretation. Its general calculation methods are subject to various conditions; the accuracy is affected. Therefore, we need to adopt various methods to calculate the resistivity of formation water so that its value is closer to the actual situation. At the same time we probe a new method to calculate the formation water resistivity, in this paper we use the differential method and the multi-parameter method to calculate the formation water resistivity and achieve relatively good results.Practical application demonstrates that: the research results broaden the application and accuracy of logging data, and the application will produce significant benefits.
