Hetian area is one of the most important prospect regions for shengli oilfield in the near future. From the north to the south, it can be cut into two parts: the southern outcrop area and the northern covered area. An integrated exploration study has been done during the past three years that includes seismic, gravity, electricity, geology etc. A lot of data has been gotten. The thesis is based on the study on biostratigraphy, lithostratigraphy, event stratigraphy, chronostratigrphy made by the geologists who have been working on the region for many years. The first step of the thesis is the integrated analysis of the standard outcrops measured in 1998 located in Duwa, Piyaman, Sangzhu, the representational wells (Hecan 1, Hel, MaCanl etc) and the seismic sections that pass and associate all of the chosen wells. After that, referring to the new methods on the continental and oceanic sequence stratigraphy, we combined all the sequence data as a whole logically and get the most reasonable interpretation of the sequences. All of these gave us a correct and system view on the petrogeological characteristics of Hetian area. Finally, we drew the stratigraphical frame, the sedimentary models of all the strata. Especially we carefully analyzed the seismic, log and outcrop characters of the area and determined , correlated , traced the key boundaries that gave much help to the study on the 3-D exterior forms and interior constitution of the sediments. More importantly, we predicted the possible gathering regions for oil and gas and provided a clear and dependable information for the determination of the actual exploration objects.
