Transport of suspended matter (SM) on East China Sea (ECS) continental shelf is very important for the development of continental physiognomy and its environment et al.The study of SM on ECS shelf is presently recognized as a front study in marine geology. On the basis of former researchers'work ,the author studies SM on ECS continental shelf according to mathematical simulation technique .Firstly ,the author simulates marine dynamic field with much precise temperature and salinity data.Seconly ,the author computes the distribution of concentration of SM and its transport in winter and in summer according to a 3-D suspended matter model.Lastly ,the author analyses the transport of suspended matter by sea water dynamic circumstance.By the use of 3-D linear tidal equations.the author protracts cotidal charts and tidal current ellipses of Ma,82 ,Ki and Cvand draws a conclusion that the Pacific tide splits two parts when enters in ECS.One part interacts with another tide offset from the north of Taiwan and develops "a degraded tidal system".The south and north Yellow Sea eddy tidal system are formed when another part spreads northward. Some tidal wave enters in Bohai and Bohai eddy tidal system develops under its water circumstance.According to low-order Lagrange equations, the author finds that zero-order can represent circulation of Yellow Sea basically and first-order may embody Yellow Sea and East China Sea after computation The result of tidal residual currents is stronger along coast than outer sea.The circulation results display the main currents in studied area both in winter and summer .These currents are Kushio.Taiwan warm current,Yellow Sea warm current.Tsushima warm current and other coastal currents.Kushio and Taiwan current are stronger in summer than winter.Concentrations of total suspended matter(CTSM) is unanimous with observational data and other scholars' researching results. The distribution of CTSM is higher along coast than other areas There is a tongue-like zone withhigh CTSM from north to southeast. The transport simulation result reveals that SM can spread to the Okinawa Trough for enough sea water mixing in winter.but in summer.SM can not traverse the big water barrier of Kushino for different circulation character. This difference is probably related to the shifting N-S monsoon. We know that Simulation results produce many data and charts. In order to manage these data and charts efficiently ,the author designs a visual management system according to visual program tools and component of GIS.This visual system is just an attempt to associate visual programme with structure programme.More work about visual research about marine mathematical simulation will develop in future.
