The theory of spatio-temporal data's 3D dynamic visualization is an important issue in instantly GIS industry and it's one of the main direction of the next phase of development for GIS. 3DGIS and Temporal GIS, which are warm spots in GIS research territory, has experienced more than ten years of development and formed a relatively mature theoretical system. Thus,3DGIS and Temporal GIS has it's own advantages and disadvantages, so how to combine 3DGIS's advantages with Temporal GIS's advantages so as to adapt to instantly society development need, it's badly in need of solve. Many scholars believe that the spatio-temporal data's 3D dynamic visualization is the direction of next stage of development of 3DGIS and Temporal GIS.The paper focused on the expression methods and implementation process of the spatio-temporal data's 3D dynamic visualization by taking natural gas leakage and diffusion 3D simulation as example, aimed to supplement and consummate the theory of 3D dynamic visualization,explorer a feasible route for 3D dynamic visualization. The concrete rea-lizing process is researching and combing existing 3D visualization technology with temporal GIS dynamic visualization technology by taking natural gas leakage and diffusion 3D simulation as example,aimed to express spatio-temporal data's information feature and transformation vividly in 3D scene by programming.The paper mainly complete following works:First of all, we systematically research on existing 3D visualization and Temporal GIS dynamic visualization technology pertinently. we choose sequence snapshot model as the basis of spatio-temporal model and choose OpenSceneGraph(OSG) as 3D visualization rendering tool.Secondly, we design an evaluation system aimed to evaluate the performance of 3D dynamic visualizations and make strategy analysis of how to realize 3D dynamic visualization ,as well as ,we make a technical road map for it.Then, we research and realize key technologies of spatio-temporaldata's 3D dynamic visualization, including natural gas leakage diffusion mathematical model, spatio-temporal model, spatio-temporal filtering mechanism, spatio-temporal process simulation technology based on surface rendering and particle system methods.According to the research before, developed a 3D dynamic visualization application system by taking natural gas leakage and diffusion 3D dynamic simulation as example, realized spatio-temporal data's 3D dynamic visualization, evaluated dynamic visualization effect of spatio-temporal process based on surface rendering, particle system and scalability realized spatio-temporal analysis methods, including spatio-temporal location, bi-temporal contrast and spatio-temporal process simulation.
