Modern spectral estimation is widely used in engineering application. It is an important direction, which use EVD (Eigen Value Decomposition) or SVD (Singular Value Decomposition) in modern spectral estimation.This thesis gives a brief introduction of the theory of spectral estimation, aims at the characteristic and key technology of SVD spectral estimation, discusses the applications of the SVD spectral estimation, introduces two methods of spectral estimation-Pisareko and MUSIC then introduces the common matrix form and orthogonal vector for spectral estimation . Based on these theories, this thesis puts forward a new method for modern spectral estimation-ESD method, provides much detailed discussing which based on many computer simulations, and some significant results are gotten. The results are referential to the research of modern spectral estimation technology.
