There are not only random factors, but also fuzzy factors in the stability of abutment. And it is proved that the fuzzy factors can make the abutment lapse.Based on the fuzzy theory and the probability, the models of the fuzzy synthetical judgement and the fuzzy-random reliability of the abutment stability are set up. Nearly all factors can be involved in the method of the fuzzy synthetical judgement in theory, and the calculation is simple. According to the engineering experiences and the correlation criteria, 13 kinds of factors are selected and each factor's subordinate functions are constructed in the first model, at the same time the two-stage index values of the effect factors are determined according to the statistical method. For the other model, the cohesion and the internal friction angles of the rocks are regarded as the fuzzy-random variables. The stability of Baihetan's abutment is appraised with the two models, and the examples prove that the two models are validity.
