Landscape Pattern is a spatial arrangement and combination form of various landscape elements, which are different in size and shape. It is not only the detailed embodiment of landscape heterogeneity, but also the result of all kinds of ecological processes in different scales. Landscape patterns determines the distribution, form, constitute of landscape resource, affects the transformation of energy flow, substance cycle and species flow inside landscape, so it has a consanguineous relationship with the abilities of anti-jamming, restoration, stability, and biodiversity of ecosystem, constricting various kinds of ecological processes.The landscape pattern is in the constant development and change, and today's pattern took shape based on the past landscape flows, including natural, social, economic and various kinds of ecological processes, therefore through analyzing the landscape pattern change at different time, we can reflect the landscape ecological processes, expound succession mechanism and rules in landscape, predict the variation tendency in the future of the landscape, and realize the sustainable utilizing of landscape resource finally.Water body landscape in the city is an important green opened-space and region that has most denseness natural element and most abundant physical process, which made it have an important role in the coursing of naissance and development. But since Industrial Revolution, the water body landscape in the city was constantly destroyed because of people's consciousness, and how to protect water body landscape in the city has became a necessity of city development and history mission. To protect water body landscape in the city, it was necessary to understand reasonably the dynamics of water body landscape patterns in the city and its whys. Based on the principles and methods of landscape ecology and historical geography, Erdas and Maplnfo software, adopting system analyses and integration study methods, quantitative and qualitative methods, Dynamics and its reason of the water body landscape patterns in Kaifeng city was analyzed.Six parts were divided in this paper:In the first part, the background of the water body landscape, the choices of the study region and study objects are introduced in this part. The study meaning and basic study frame of the paper are simply introduced, too.In the second par, the study of the landscape pattern trends and the study of the . development of the water area landscape were narrated. This part firstly introduced the study content of the landscape trends, study methods of the landscape pattern trends and the drive motivate of the landscape pattern, and the study of the water area landscape evolvement is mostly introduced from the historical angle.In the third part: the summarization of the city water area landscape pattern .The author firstly introduced the correlative conception, then analyzed the types, character and the structure of the city water body landscape, at last, the type and the character of the water area landscape pattern of Kaifeng city were analyzed.In the forth part: the dynamics and drive forces of the city water area landscape pattern of Kaifeng city. Firstly, the article analyzed the form of the city water area landscape pattern of Kaifeng city, and then two phases of the dynamics of the city water area landscape pattern of Kaifeng were divided into: before Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty and after Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. The dynamics of landscape patterns each were analyzed taking the methods of historical geography and landscape indices.In the fifth part, conclusion to the study and suggestion for the conservation and exploitation were put forward.In the end, my view and deficit were put forward.
