Rapidly dynamic GPS receiver needs a high-performance microprocessor because of continues tracks of several channels and then great real-time operation. Besides high-performance, it has strict request of the power dissipation and the volume of the microprocessor. ARM microprocessor that has been widely used in mobile communitions has characteristics of high-performance, small volume, low power dissipation and low-cost exectly. It's very suitably to design rapidly dynamic GPS receiver using ARM microprocessor. This thesis introduces the process of developing the rapidly dynamic GPS receiver using microcontroller AT91R40008.This thesis at first introduces the feature and the principle of GPS, then describes the generic design principle of GPS receiver roughly, then analyze the characteristic and the environment of the exploitation of ARM, especially ARM7 microprocessor. After that, the thesis discuss in detail the entire process of developing the rapidly dynamic GPS receiver using microcontroller AT91R40008 from all aspects such as selecting module, designing and debugging. Finally, the thesis draw the conclusion:It's very suitably using ARM microprocessor in the industry such as spaceflight that has strict request of high-performance, the power dissipation and the volume of the microprocessor.
