Study on optimization of treatment projects for slopes is always an important subject that needs to be solved urgently in geo-technical areas. About this subject much research work have been done and a lot of optimum design methods were presented. Because of the complexity of relations among design parameters of treatment projects, stability of the treated slopes and project cost, optimization of treatment projects is a complex, nonlinear problem. Based on the slope stability analysis and evaluation of limiting equilibrium method and finite element method, a genetic optimum model in which genetic algorithm and artificial neural network are adopted. And this model is used to perform stability analysis and optimum design of treatment projects of Luomude slope in the south region of mountain in Tibet. My work can be concluded as below,1. Summarize the advances in treatment projects and present the basic thought adopting genetic optimization to design slope treatment engineering. Developing the genetic optimum design system on slope engineering is possible and significant.2. Theory on genetic algorithm and artificial neural network is introduced. And improve their algorithms to get evolving artificial neural network with higher precision.3. Analyze characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of various slope stability analysis methods. And suggestion is made that several methods should be adopted to analyze and evaluate the slope stability synthetically and objectively.4. Analyze the structure system of treatment engineering on slope and study the approaches to optimum design on slope. Various influence factors and structures of treatment projects on slope are analyzed wholly according to the viewpoints of system engineering. And analytical thoughts, optimum principles and design process on treatment engineering on slope are developed.5. Based on analysis of treatment engineering on slope, optimum design model and mathematical model were developed.6. The complex relation among design parameters in treatment projects on slope, stability of treated slope and engineering cost was expressed truly by evolving artificial neural network. This artificial neural network model is introduced into genetic algorithm and evolving artificial neural network on optimization of treatment projects was presented. Finally genetic optimum model of treatment projects on slopes was constructed.7. According to geological information of Luomude slope in the south region ofmountain in Tibet the characteristics and conditions of the formation of this slope. And design basis were provided for treatment measures on slope, limiting equilibrium method and finite element method were used to analyze and evaluate the slope stability. Genetic algorithm analytical model on optimization of treatment measures was constructed.8. Software system of genetic optimum design on slope treatment projects was developed by VC++. And this software was applied to optimum design on treatment projects of Luomude slope in the south region of mountain in Tibet and the optimum design parameters were attained. The results proved the optimum project was reasonable.
