Research And Application On Intelligent Agent Based GIS Technology

With the development of the computer technology and the expanding ofthe social demand, the application of GIS becomes more and more popular.In order to improve the performance of GIS-based application system andsolve some technical problems, this paper presents the research onAgent-based GIS technology. The paper first introduces the current GIS applications and itsdeveloping trend, discusses the leading distributed computing technology- Agent technology, then analyzes the advantage of taking Agent technologyto solve the problems such as the convert of heterogeneous data, dispatchof GIS assignments and load balancing which occur in the combination ofGIS and MIS. Then the paper presents an intelligent Agent-based GISapplication module (IABG). IABG uses intelligent Agent's ideology topresent information searching/filter, information interpretation anddecision maker in the module. Additionally, the paper focuses on the IABGsystem module design, analyzes the application of the module in FlightOptimizer and Profit Maximizer System (FOPMAX) and its performance. Atlast the paper gives evaluation to the system and makes some ameliorativesuggestion.
