In order to prevent and reduce the expense of lives and belongs of people which coming from landslide, on the basis of the demands of disaster prevention and mitigation, this paper summarizes the research actuality of the evaluation of natural disaster losses, and analyzes the method has been existed of evaluating disaster losses and puts forward a quickly evaluating method of coast disaster losses based on multi-sources geographical spatial data.This method includes establishing multi-sources geographical spatial database and establishing the evaluating model of landslide losses. On the one hand of database, the paper studies the method of establishing database based on GIS, which can manage the data of multi-sources, multi- formats and multi- periods of time, and discusses the method of classifying and coding of data and the method of importing multi-formats data to database, and the method of managing metadata, and the design of logic and physical structure of database and so on .On the other hand of the evaluating model of landslide losses, using the method of data analysis, disposing and statistics of GIS, the paper puts forward the method based on multi-sources geographical spatial database to evaluate the quantity of people that a certain landslide can threaten and the direct economic losses. Finally, depending on soft wares such as ArcGIS, Oracle and ArcObjects, the paper carries out the method of establishing database based on multi-sources and the model of loss evaluation, and the method was demonstrated in Wushan, Yangtse River Gerges.
