Any object has three basic elements which are space time and attribute in a certain geography space-time coordinate. Dynamic display is the display manner that considers the time in the process of object's changing and simulates the dynamic situation following the time as to represent the essence and change of the object more lively and nicely.The combination of dynamic display function and GIS provides geographical analyses platform circumstance and extends application areas for dynamic display function. Simultaneity, dynamic display function makes the time and attributes of observe target visually and makes traditional planar static state map to dynamic visual form, thus enhances GIS function for displaying space-time data.After consulting various materials, in this research the author classify space-time data to historical data and real time data, and analyst these two data. Also the author classify dynamic display model to three types which are position dynamic change model, type dynamic change model and integrated dynamic change model and make presentation of all these models.Based on these, the author develop dynamic display model of ArcGIS by adopting secondary exploitation techniques of ArcObjects. These models extend the display function for space-time data in ArcGIS and increase the analysis function of space-time data. In this research the author make presentation of the models' usage. The dynamic display of typhoon route and enlarge of build distribute are carried out by position dynamic change model; the dynamic display of vehicle flux and diffusion of one dimension river pollution are carried out by type dynamic change model; the dynamic display of population barycenter of center distribute in shanghai is carried out by integrated dynamic change model.The innovations of the research are 2 points thereinafter: firstly, make exploitation of dynamic display model based on application model and abundance the display function of ArcGIS; secondly, design the storage mode for real time calculated value and implement the dynamic visualization of real time calculated data.The research has five parts. The first is foreword. The author expatiate the background, significance, actuality of the research; and bring forward the content and innovation. The second part is theory of space-time data and dynamic display model. The author expatiate the space-time data signification, classify dynamic displaymodel and explain the key technique for realizing dynamic display. The third part is development of dynamic display model based on ArcGIS. The technology of ArcObject and ArcGIS inherent dynamic model of Tracking Analyst and Animation are introduced. Based on these, the author explicates the development of dynamic display model. The fourth part is examples. The position change display model has two examples of which are changes of typhoon path and enlargement of build distribute. The type dynamic change model has two examples of which are dynamic changes of vehicle flux and pollution diffusion of one dimension river. The integrated dynamic change model has one example of which is change of population barycenter of center distribute in shanghai. The fifth part is conclusion. The research is summarized and more perfect work is put forward.
