Background : Ghrelin is a 28 amino acids brain-gut peptides, the first endogenous natural ligand forthe growth hormone secretagogue receptor(GHSs-R),was originally purified from the rat stomach. The serine 3 residue is N-octanoylated and specifically release GH both in vivo and in vitro. Ghrelin-immunoreactive cells were shown to be located in the hypothalamic arcute nucleus,LHAPVN,VMH as well as the stomach. Human ghrelin and human motilin exhibit 36% identity with each other. Moreover, human ghrelin receptor exhitits a remarkable 50% overall identity with human motilin receptor, ghrelin is " motilin-related peptide".LHA play an important role in the regulation of food intake.. LHA is related with cortex, forebrain, dorsal vagal complex and spinal cord, The fibre in LHA is projected into DVC.However, the central actions of ghrelin in LHA on the regulation of gastric motility have not been elucidated. Whether ghrelin a functional correlation of motilin in the lateral hypothalamic area in rats need to be investigated. In present study: we measured the gastric motility in freely moving rats to exam the effects and the mechanism of microinjection ghrelin into LHA on gastric movement. Objective:To investigate the effects of ghrelin in LHA on gastric motility and its mechanism by which hypothalamic ghrelin is involved in the regulation of gastric motility. To investigate the effect of central administration of ghrelin on the immunoreactive expression of c-fos protein in ARC in the rat.Result:...
