Abies fargesii Franch belongs to Abies Mill.of Pinaceae, it is the peculiar varieties of trees of our country, distributes broadly , resources are large in storage capacity. The past studies concentrated in the silviculture and forest management. Now this research mainly focus on such fields as chemical composition, the drawing method of extractum and essential oil,difference chemical composition of fir essential oil with different drawing method,in order to lay the foundation for the application of Abies fargesii Franch. The results of a chemical preliminary examination carried out on Abies fargesii Franch showed that the plant contained different kinds of chemical components, such as amino acid, protein, carbohydrate and their glycosides, phenols, tannins, organic acids, flavonoids, anthraquinone,alkaloids etc.,and did not discover saponin, lactone, coumarin and cardiac glycoside etc..It is uncertain if it contains microbial, triterpene compositions. The results of the research of solvent exraction method and steam distillation method of drawing fir extracturm and essential oil showed that absolute ethyl alcohol, ether, benzine as exract solvent extracturm rate respectively was 6.14%,8.64%,11.50%,the extracturm rate of the benzine as the extractive solvent was highest, even reach to 11.76%,if take 4 times ,8h as suitable conditions. We also get glue thick liquid with yellow through the Steam distillation method, with the oil rate of 0.173%-0.654%. The amount of essential oil in yellow leaves is far greater than the greens. Through to extract and separate fir benzine extracturm,it is receive bornyl acetate , initially study the separation craft technologies. Compareing with essential oil of the steam distillation method and the bensine solvent extraction method through GC-MS analysis .The result showed that:the essential oil principal constituent extracted by benzine is camphene,a-pinene,bornyl acetate, limonene, 1-methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)-1,4-cyclohexadiene, myrcene, caryophyllene, borneol. Steam distillation essential oil principal constituent is bornyl acetate, borneol,2,3-dimethyl-bicyclo ,hept-2-ene,caryophyllene,camphene,d-d-cadinene,?-pinene,(E)-1,6,10-dodecatrien-3-ol,3,7,11-trimethyl-,Isolongifolan-8-ol,Naphthalene,1,2,3,4,4a,5,6,8a-octahydro-7-methyl-4-methylene-1-(1-methylethyl)-,(1à,4aá,8aà)-,Globulol.The principal constituent of the fir essential oil extracted by benzine and steam distillation is samilar basically, but the relative content of composition of them was diffierent largely, at the same time, fir essential oil by benzine extracted was more complete than that extracted by water.
