Bauxite is the main material in refining aluminum and refractories industries. With the sustainable and rapid development of the national economy, the explored and exploitation bauxite reserves can't meet marketing requirement any more. The tusks of seeking and prospecting for bauxite have to being settled down instantly. There is one layer of bauxite at the bottom of Wanshan segment of Shihezi formation in western Shandong province that is generally called layer-A bauxite. Many theoretics and methods— sedimentology, geochemistry and mineralogy were used to conduct detailed research, such as distribution and existence regulations, mineral component, chemistry component, existence regulation of some trace element, impurity of iron and titanium and mineralization mechanism of bauxite. Scientific evidence was provided for the exploitation of the bauxite in Shandong province.Mineral component of Layer-A bauxite in the researched area was dominated by kaolinite and boehmite, quartz, andreattite, hematite, siderite, anatase etc. secondarily. Its primary chemistry component is mainly include SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, FeO, and some TiO2, MgO, CaO, Na2O, K2O. Characteristics of the bauxite mainly include: high Aluminum, high silicon, low-intermediate iron and low grade. There are many kinds of trace elements that Zr and Ba are higher than others. The layer-A bauxite suffers more aggradation circumstance and the belt law is abundance in the upper part and inadequate in the lower. The upper part of the "A" layer of the bauxite have a great deal of high aluminum mineral, but there are some impurity Fe. During the period of the mineralizing, the surroundings of studying are is continental facies. The aggraded materials who have experienced long time efflorescence and leaching have corrosion and eluviated the alkali metals, alkaline earth, silicon, iron and so on. The schwer 1 Al2O3 is keeped down. So this condition made the enrichment of the aluminum and the bauxite is formed. Being influenced by the paleogeography, the "A" bauxite layer distributed more in the thickness in the three area Jinan-Zibo, Xintai-Laiwu, Linyi-Zaozhuang, and the mineralize quality is better. In the north and south landscape orientation of the study area, the thickness aggradation of Zaozhuang, Zibo and Zhangqiu is thicker than the central section of. But the quality of Xinwen area is better.
