Meshing refers to cut a geometry region to simple geometry shapes. Nearly ten for several years, as long as the fast developing of the computer technology, meshing becomes more and more important roll in numeric simulation and FEA and has been applied usually in many fields. For example, in geography displaying, it can display complex geography simply; in computer graphic, almost all objects are converted into mesh before rending, because this can accelerate it's rending; in numeric solving of PDE given in physical simulation, it plays the key roll, for it can improve the computing precise and the compute speed. Mesh generation is important during building the FEM model and it also a primary face controlling it's developing further. It needs to think of so many problems, acquires large labor and its quality (such as element number, mesh density, geometrical irregular) concerns the precision and speed of numeric solving much. As long as the fast developing of FEM application, the generation of FEM mesh attract more and more concerns. It is also a hot researching problem in FEM modeling that how to generate high quality mesh in 2D and 3D fast and automatically.For triangular mesh, this paper gives a new method to generate quadrilateral mesh based on face clustering. First, we cluster the mesh via controlling several error functions, and then optimize face clusters topologically. At last, we generate quadrilateral mesh on face clusters and optimize it via existing optimizing methods. At the end of this paper, several numeric experiments are given. The result shows that this quadrilateral mesh generation given in this paper is available and feasible.
