The studied area is located in the most eastern Hunchun region, Jilin province. With a total area of 220km2, its coordinates are E130°36'~130o55',N42o53'~43°19'. In geotectonic, it lies in the east section of the north edge of the North China Platform, and at the intersection of EW extending tectonic belt and NE extending tectonic belt. The consuming plate margin of the ancient Asian ocean controls the tectonic belt in E-W direction, and the western Pacific active epicontinental belt controls the NE extending tectonic belt. The oldest stratum in this area is Paleozoic Wudaogou group composed of metamorphic rocks. There occur a lot of magmatic bodies, among which the Mesozoic volcanic and intruding rocks are closely associated with gold-copper mineralization in space-time and origin.Based on the studying on the ore-forming factors, the relationship has been discussed in this paper between the gold-copper mineralization and such geological factors as Paleozoic strata, the Mesozoic and Cenozoic strata, magmatic rocks formed in various period as well as structures. Moreover, the distribution law of gold and copper mineral resources in this area and their relationship with ore-forming geological setting are also discussed in this paper.By analysis on geological characteristics of typical gold-copper deposits, the author has summed such ore-controlling data as strata, intruding rocks and structures. Then the geological forecasting model of deposits in this area has been founded.
