This Structure display a range of frequency where propagation is completely forbidden. In the past decade, it has become a new fast-dedveloping research field due to its unique properties and many potential applications.The sample of close-packed opal-based photonic crystal with a PMMA microspheres' matrix have been prepared by self-organizarion . And we chose TiO2 as the background for incorporation into the voids of the crystal. The microstructure of the sample was studied by scanning electron microscopy . And the optical property of the sample was studied by the spectrum of reflection and transmission. The transmission properties of close-packed opal-based photonic crystals have been examined by using the transfer matrix method.An optical pseudo gap in incidence-angle-dependent transmittance and reflectance spectra is observed and accounted for by theoretical calculations of the photonic band structure.The effect of the infiltration of opals with TiO2 is also reported.
