The earthquake is a kind of familiar geologic phenomenon and also geologiccalamity that easy to cause people's panic. Although it dose not take place very often, theaftereffect is very horrendous. So, in all ages, it has been the human being's aim that peoplepursue to hold the principle of the earthquake's gestation and generation. However, up tothe present, earthquake prediction is a puzzle all over the world because the earth is acomplicated nonlinear system and the earthquake takes place deep in the earth and it issmall probability event.Although the earthquake predict is very difficult, the earth may give off the signals tocaution people before the earthquake breaking out. The main problem that we should settleis whether we can receive and understand the signal very well.There are many ways to predict the earthquake. We can know the earthquake willhappen tracking the abnormity of the animals and plants. And we can also get theearthquake information from the shape of cloud. But the most useful is geophysical method.No matter what method, it is at the primary stage. According to the difficult of theearthquake prediction facing, the scientists in the world recognized that the earthquakeprediction need scientific exploring and scientific accumulation for a long time. Withoutthe unremitting and fortitudinous trial exploring, the earthquake predict will be all ourprevious effort wasted.Wang jinsheng, a physics professor in Navy Submarine College in Qingdao, haveobserved earthquake with the method of earth resistivity for thirty years. The paperintroduces the theory basic and measure technology of the earthquake observing station.According to the experience of observation for many years and the successful example ofpredicting earthquake, as well as the compare experiments between the earth resistivity andapparent resistivity, I demonstrated the validity of the method of the earth resistivity usingin the earthquake prediction. And I developed the software that advance the work efficiencyfor data processing in the earthquake observing station and built a database for continuousinvestigation.We can educe the conclusion that method of the earth resistivity is validity for theearthquake prediction, But the investigation is at the stage of qualitative analysis. Weshould deal with the data with the nonlinear way and give the order of nature itselfappearance. Chaos theory is a new burgeoning interdiscipline and many puzzles are resolved bychaos theory, such as weather forecast. Earthquake physical scientists have taken theearthquake system as macrocosm dynamics system and put forward proper model to findout the chaos character. So I suggested that find the way to resolve the puzzle of earthquakeprediction by chaos theory on the basis of the mass of the data in the earthquake observingstation.
