It is considered primarily that there are great lateritic gold deposits in A'r tai and lateritic gold deposits evolve into gold-bearing placer now during tectonic movement later.Section and mineralogy characteristics of A'r tai gold-bearing placer are mainly studied to prove that the main ledge of placer gold is lateritic mantle rock, lateritic gold is the dominating source of placer gold and placer gold has the mineralogical characteristic of lateritic gold.It can get following conclusions via the investigation on section of gold-bearing placer. There is lateritic mantle rock in A'r tai, clay conglomeration of mantle rock and drift sheet remain at each mine profile, mantle rock is the main ledge. Mantle rock has denuded under stratum left only variedness clay, sapropelic rock and weathering fragmentation. The basis mineral combination of mantle rock is kaolinite—illite. Weathering index show that development degree of mantle rock is higher than lateritic gold deposit in domestic and comparing with Boddington lateritic gold deposits, it is common but not typical laterite.It can get following results via the analysis of component and structure of placer gold by electro scan microscopy. The purity of placer gold is commonly good and clay is the main impurity.
