In recent years, the growth and synthesize of the semi-conductor nanocrystal, linear and nonlinear optical property, and its vast applied foreground become hot point of the domestic and international research. The InSb has the most narrow energy band and the tallest sub- migration flow rate in theâ…¢-â…¤c lan semi-conductor, probes into the good application of infrared detection. The quantum dot and well in nano-scale and the low-dimensional semi-conductor quantum system express some special optical,electricity and magnetic physics functions, which has a huge applied foreground in super high density magnetic head, medicine imaging, short distance communication etc fields.This paper describes the details of using vacuum evaporation method and the method of evaporation in inert gas to synthesize Insb nanocrystals on SiO2 substrate. The surface morphology, crystal structure features, the grain size and element combination of particles preparation by the two methods were characterized by Atom Force Microscopy(AFM),Scan Electron Microscopy(SEM),X-Ray Diffraction(XRD) and Energy Disperse Spectroscopy(EDS). The analysis gets the result: the two methods both make out the heteromorphism InSb nanocrystals, which have different crystal lattices. There are few In and Sb elementary substance grains mixed in the samples and the ratio of two kinds of chemical elements nears to 1:1. The crystal structure of the particle which is gained in vacuum evaporation method is affected by the crystal structure of substrate surface and anneal, the size of grain is direct proportion to evaporation time. And the crystal process is not related to the substrate, the size of grain is related to the kind and the pressure of inert gas.Contrasting the merit and shortcoming of two kinds of methods and the grain property, we find the method of evaporation in inert gas is easy to operate and the grain structure is more stable. So we use this method to synthesize Insb nanocrystals on ZnS substrate, and measure its Raman spectrum and infrared absorption spectrum. The result is that: the Raman spectrum peak InSb nanocrystal observably varies from bulk crystal, and with the grain size decreasing, the pink exhibits a blue shift. With the...
