Study On The Developing Trend Of Contemporary Philosophy Of Science And Technology From The Quantitative Perspective Of Three Journals

In the field of philosophy of science and technology in China, there are three key journals: the Report of Natural Dialectics, the Research of Natural Dialectics and Science, Technology and Dialectics. The three journals grow up together with the discipline of philosophy of science and technology, and interact with each other, witnessing its development from an abstract pan-philosophical study to a concrete special study in different fields. So the development of these three journals best represents the academic features and developing trend of discipline. Any discipline develops along its growing logic trend and is affected by outside social factors at the same time. A careful study of it helps us to find the way they develop and interact with each other. In the special situation of China, the outside influence on Philosophy of science and technology is more evident. The thesis aims to trace the intrinsic features of philosophy of science and technology through scientific quantitative analysis and content comparison of the three journals issued since 1979, and explores the reasons behind it so as to reflect academic development in China from this peculiar perspective. It tries to demonstrate the history and present situation of philosophy of science and technology, the transfer of research focus and its features and trend in China through qualitative and quantitative analysis in the forms of diagrams and statistics. This thesis achieves originality in that it induces the contemporary features of philosophy of science and technology by scientific quantitative analysis from the perspective of the research subjects, the objects and the carriers. It concludes that philosophy of science and technology is developing along three trends: ever specialized deeper development, integration of science and humanity, and ever closer interrelation with sociology of science.
