The widely using of electronic map will change the people's working fashion, enhance the working efficiency, bring economic benefit and will have broad applying foreground. The electronic map will give a revolutionary change to the traveling. It will also bring more advantage to people's daily life. The electronic map industry is on its beginning phase in China, but there is a prosperous foreground. The enormous Internet consumer group will drive the electronic map industry increased eruptively. By the year of 2008,the applying of the electronic map will come to every industry. People's dressing, eating, living and traveling are all related to the electronic map. Some experts forecast that the electronic map market will form a more than one hundred million economic scope. The map service is the most potential market in electronic map applying.Map service Mentioned in the thesis infers that it can be carried out a new type of map service depending on the technic of network, communication and GIS. The thesis gives a comparative analysis on some representative map service workstation in predominance, inferior position and function in detail. And it gets some common characteristic and function. The map service system includes .these common characteristic and function. It also adds some characteristic function, such as the real time showing of the road condition. Through the researching on theory and working practice constructing model was summed up. The bit maps are needed to show as carrier and the data getting from the analysis are showed as information. There are also some means to update the data mentioned in the thesis. By dint of the database technic, math formula conversion and researching technic, the map service system realizes all kinds of function and provides many services. In the end, the thesis presents a model about the dada processing system.After three month's hard work, based on the constructing model, the map service system version one was developed. And now it runs stably. The version one provides searching function, special map service and map guest service. The version two is completed. After perfecting and testing, it will be published recently.
