Nowaday, with the re-emergence of e-commerce and the development of economic globalization, Logistics industry has become a hotspot. Logistics distribution is an important part in logistics process, which cost accounted for most of the logistics cost. Logistics distribution has become the ultimate key to success in the development of electronic commerce. Using the advantages of GIS that can deal with space data and attribute data efficiently to create the logistics distribution system based on GIS is at the initial stage, but is a useful attempt at all. This will be a trend in the future. This paper does a preliminary study and research on the emerging technology (Embedded GIS), which apply in logistics distribution system based on PDA.This paper mainly studies on the technology of Embedded GIS based on PDA, and does such following work mainly.1. Completed electronic map production using user-defined type special data. This lays good foundation for the conversion with other types of spatial data in the future.2. Add the plotting function in the electronic map. By this function, the user can append many kinds mark to achieve a personalized electronic map showing.3. Study on and accomplish the problem of receiving and dealing with the GPS signal real-timely, and show the location in the map in time.4.
