| The complexity of Geographic system determines the multi-semantic of geographic information and geographic information classification and coding is important GIS data organizations. How to accurately define and target geographic classification expression and how quickly and accurately express the user demand is plaguing problems of information system developer. The introduction of ontology and relevant technologies address the problem with a brand new perspective and provide a strong theoretical and methodological support. For identity in the geological environment management information systems design and development process, the identity of geology environment field ontology, ontology-oriented field requirements analysis and ontology-oriented field classification and coding are three important aspects. From the relevant ontology theoretical study, papers summarize the essence and connotation of the concept of ontology, explore the type, role, a method, formalized expression and tool of ontology. On the basis of existing research, papers bring forward 5-step method of ontology building and use this method to build ontology in geological environment management information systems. Through generalizing field and category of geological environment, obtain the terminology and concepts of ontology involved in geological environment field. On this basis papers propose the framework of geological environment ontology .establish the meta-ontology of geological environment using embedded abstract method and analyze attributes, relationships description and instantiation separately .Papers explore how the use of the knowledge and organizational expression of geo-ontology to help users to describe system requirements, standardize the process of obtaining requirements. Against the inadequateness of the traditional classification and coding methods, Papers establish a flexible classification and coding methods thus build the mapping between ontology and traditional Tiered data Expression. |
