| Ernest Rutherford has developed the new theory of atom which changed the conception of micro-matter that had existed for more than two thousand years, and the science was promoted greatly by the new theory of atom. The scientific life of Ernest Rutherford enfolded his great spirit of science to us. He has exhibited the skeptical and critical spirit and the spirit of innovation and seeking truth in his scientific findings. He has exhibited the great spirit of tolerance in scientific field as an organiger and leader of scientific groups. When he co-operated with others and treated the scientific findings, he has also showed the great spirit of tolerance. Ernest Rutherford has nurtured a lot of scientific talents, which also constituted a facet of his spirit of science. The thought of the scientific history and mass, and the thought of internationalism of science are the spirit's force for him to nurture them. It is the legacy which we should and must cherish. We can get some inspiration from it: fostering the skeptical and innovative spirit, fostering the spirit of tolerance in scientific field to pursue and encourage original studies, and fostering the spirit of nurturing scientific talent to abundant the resources of talents of original studies. |
