The emphases of this study are the stratigraphic subdivision, correlation and the distribution of Carboniferous and Permian in the coal bed of Jiyang Depression of Shandong.Depending on integrative. stratigraphy, biostratigraphy, lithostratigraphy, seismic stratigraphy and logging stratigraphy are selected to classify and correlate the strata. Two high resolution guiding beds are set up, and the data of eight lithostratigraphic units of 54 well are provided. The study of Carboniferous and Permian in Zibo area is much deeper than in Jiyang Depression. The strata and sedimentary system between the two areas are correlated. At the same time, the differences of palaeogeography circumstance between the two areas are studied.Making full use of logging data and seismic information, The distribution maps of Xiashihezi Formation, Shangshihezi Formation in Jiyang Depression and Gubei area are made.
