Basing on collecting materials, the sedimentary evolution and sedimenatry system of Carboniferous and Permian in Jiyang Depression are analyzed. In this paper, four sedimentary systems are described, including the sedimentary systems of tidal flat, barrier-lagoon, shallow water delta and compound river-lake. The types of facies and deposit environments of every sedimentary system are explained.Basing on materials of well-logging, seismic exploration and drill core, the research area are studied by the high resolution sequence stratigraphy. The sequence framework of Carboniferous -Permian are constructed. The system tract of sequence 4th, 5th and 6th are especially analyzed. By this way, the sandstone reservoir characteristics are studied. The material characteristics and diagensis of Kuishan Member and Wanshan member are specially analyzed. According to the analysis, the diagensis period is thought to be Late Diagensis A; the sandstone reservoir of Permian belongs to the least pore and the lowest permeable material; The heterogeneities of Reservoir are studied. Three kinds of heterogeneities are concluded: intraformational heterogeneity, interformational Heterogeneity and flat Heterogeneity. The sandstone reservoir distribution in Kuishan Member and Wanshan Member are studied. In the example of Gubei area, the regulation of sandstone distribution can be studied in 6th sequence. The mudstone characteristics and the distribution regulation are preliminary studied. By the evaluation of association of reservoir rock and mudstone rock, three kinds associations are divided .
