With the development of information technology, recently, it has been a very important problem which is needed to be researched and solved that how to integrate information technology into course teaching. Web-assisted instruction in university physics course is a new teaching mode which integrates network technology into university physics course teaching, and it combines teaching process with course characters to accomplish teaching assignment. This thesis made a systemic research of Web-assisted instruction in university physics course.This thesis firstly described and summarized the current situation of Web-assisted instruction and Web-assisted instruction in university physics course, and it especially analyzed some domestic and overseas typical Web-assisted instruction systems, and made a summary of these systems'main functions and characteristics. Then, the theory foundation of Web-assisted instruction is described and a contrastive research was made among course teaching, distance teaching and Web-assisted instruction. Based on the study, this thesis researched the recent main realization modes of Web-assisted instruction in the university. Moreover, under the instruction of IT-integrated course theory, according to the requirement of teaching reformation of university physics course, this thesis points out the main functions that should be realized in web-assisted instruction system and the teaching target that should be reached in web-assisted instruction. At last, a new web-assisted instruction system was developed based on the front research and the several years'practice and research about web-assisted instruction in university physics course in Shanghai Jiao Tong University.This system uses B/S pattern based on ASP.NET, and ADO.NET technique is used in data accessing layer. It is developed in the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. In the process of developing, software engineering knowledge has been used to carry out requirement and analysis and the designing of software. This system is developed according to university physics course's characters, so it is more applicable for web-assisted instruction in university physics course than other web-assisted instruction system. Besides, this system have many innovative functions, such as learning discussion module with open questions resource library, score management module which is adaptable for several assessing modes and is apt to process assessing and open instruction resources library which can grow automatically. What's more, this system is extendable, so it can be made secondary development based on it. This thesis has made a detailed description about requirement analysis, the design of structure and function, the developing process, the realization of Web-assisted instruction system in university physics course.The work and the research in this thesis can be instructive and valuable to make a further research of Web-assisted instruction in university physics course and research Web-assisted instruction of other courses in the future.
