When the exploitation of field was from the structure field to the un-structure field with the progress of exploration survey, the single compress wave exploration had not fulfiled the geological exploration which was more and more complicated. The anisotropy of rock has the vicinity to the migration and accumulation of the oil and gas. So, the sensibility of transverse wave to the anisotropy has important value and new information which is not replaced. The transverse wave exploration was being applied with the mature of the technolngy.Multy-wave seismic survey refers to the compress wave and the transverse wave jointly survey, which mainly studies the anisotropy of underground and has been developed with the development of the the transverse wave survey.Multy-wave seismic survey was developed slowly. Because the pure source of the transverse wave was shotted difficultly, the transverse wave survey had a lot of limit.The technology of the transverse wave survey is complicated ,expensive and doesn't received the good reflected signal. The shot of the converted wave is simple contrast to the ransverse wave survey. The compression wave formed the compression wave and the transverse wave at the inpedance interface when it traveles under the ground. So it can form the compression wave and the transverse wave at the same time by the source of the compression wave.We might study the property of rock by the received information. The converted wave survey was simple , and its cost was lower relatively contrast to the ransverse wave survey , and it can get the same result of the transverse wave survey. So the converted wave survey was developed quickly. Great progress was maked in the field design,collection,processing and interpretation in latest dozens years.No matter it simulates the process of field or it studies the relation between the rock property and the wave equation , or it simulates the forward and inversion of the seismic wavefield, those are all related to the study of seismic wave. We direct the application by the theory which are gotted from the numerical simulation with wave equation. The model builded is related to the real condition and the correct wave equation (for example elastic wave,acoustic wave),the source wavelet,geology interface,the physical parameters of media (such as density,velocity) etc. Though the numerical simulation has many ways, the elastic wave equtation is used mainly in this paper.In the content of this paper, there are seven chapters: In chapter 1, it was introduuced the history of multiple wave.In chapter 2, it was introduuced the definition and movement feature of converted wave firstly , afterward it were analysed the difference and processing between the compression wave and the converted wave. In chapter 3, it were summarized the methods of numerical simulation concerning finite element method,pseudo-spectral method and finite difference method. On the base of foundation, it was analysed concerning stablity and convergence. According to the finite difference equation, we gave the difference equation of the compression wave and the conversed wave. In chapter 4, it were studied concerning effect of boundary. In chapter 5, many kind of sources were designed, and pointed out the source was the prerequisite of the good result. In chapter 6, after the modeles was builded, the results discovered that application of the convered wave was good than that of the compression wave. In chapter 7, the dissertation is summarized.In the process of this paper studied, some knowing were gained. It followed:Three component can be gotten in the converted wave survey, X,Y,Z, and they will give us the reasoning to the pojection of reservior.This paper has finished on the base of the finite difference equation. It is applied in many fields.In low velocity areas in which the oil and gas are gathered, the energy of the converted wave is not subjected to shield and it images good, but the compression wave does not well than that. This is good for us to study the lithologic information.The converted wave survey has the advantage of exploration. It may have a good future.
