3D Visualization Simulation Of Landslide

Landslide is one of the common disasters in the nature. It is one kind of the breakage of slope stability, and is the dynamics geological phenomenon due to shearing movement along special strip which caused by slope or part of the slope under the effect of gravity. Because it is widely distributed, outbreaks frequently and may do large harm, now many countries in the world are suffering from the harm begot by landslide. In China, landslide has done serious harm to national economy and lives and property of people. Recently, along with the continual improvement of the computer hardware, computer graphics and the technique to disposal graphics and images, 3D modeling and visualization technique for terrain and geologic bodies develops quickly and improves geological research. However, research on landslide is not much, it is necessary to do landslide visualization research.This paper summarizes the prevenient research of landslide visualization and analyses the shape of landslide, outbreak mechanism of landslide and so on, and discusses the expression of the landslide elements and inner physical and chemical property in the 3D space. Based on geological and terrain map and boreholes datas of one landslide of lower Jishi Gorge Hydropower Station Dam, the paper converts the data and uses visualization to know, deduce and depict the spatial shape of the geological bodies of and geological interfaces of landslide. Then refers to the prevenient research on the motion of the landslide and visualizes the motion. We can get the route, distance, hazard area and deposition of landslide by calculation and provide the engineering construction nearby with important suggest.This paper completes the work flow from the original datas of landslide to the visualization successfully and provides the research of landslide outbreak mechanism, prevention and cure, and evaluation of hazard with significant reference.
